November 30Nov 30 They said it was high tire degradation and the tires become unsafe after 25 laps… or some such bullshit. This race blows.
November 30Nov 30 Braindead move by Piastri to not demand to pit on lap 25. He had a 4 second lead and would’ve been safe from the undercut. Norris would’ve had to pit on 24 and would’ve had one less lap to build the gap to Alonso.
November 30Nov 30 McLaren could very well lose a race where they had the 2 fastest cars, started 1-2 on the grid and neither car had a wreck or mechanical problem.
November 30Nov 30 Yeah, but I don't like to say it's for certain because of mechanical issues or other crazy things happening.
November 30Nov 30 I’m honestly team anyone but Max, but holy shit has Norris completely fucked his Championship?
November 30Nov 30 I’m honestly team anyone but Max, but holy shit has Norris completely fucked his Championship? McLaren screwed up by not pitting behind the safety car.
November 30Nov 30 I would blame the team here. They made a bad choice in the beginning that brought about the worst possible result for them in the drivers championship.
November 30Nov 30 I should have worded that better. Meant more like “has Norris had his championship fucked” like y’all are saying.

But it seems to me that it kinda sucks that many races are mostly about pitting strategy vs actual racing / passing. Also, there’s something about the F1 cars not looking like “real” cars that makes it kind of overly clinical. It's an engineering contest. F1 is a competition of which team builds the fastest cars, which determines the order. Driver variability adds +/- 2 places. Strategy adds +/- 2. Then luck does the rest. So in a typical race where everything falls near the middle of the +/- distribution and there's no random shit you would see results like: Team A, A, B, C, C, B, D, D, E, F
November 30Nov 30 LOL ... well done McLaren. You don't wanna lock this shit up today? OK. Cool. Max is here for it. On 11/29/2025 at 10:05 AM, NoName said: how are they so bad at picking tracks for sprints? outside of ALO dropping down, how many passes happened after lap 1? "let's just make every sprint race a shitty version of Monaco without the glitz where literally all that matters is quali and the first 30 seconds of the race" I don't think they pick the tracks based on any sprint-friendly characteristics. It's more about which circuits want a sprint. COTA has had one every year since they were expanded iirc. That's because they were desperate to make a better showing on Fridays to help justify the state subsidy money, and at the same time, it seems he uses it as an excuse to further weaken the support series slate for the weekend. 2 hours ago, Buzzrock said: Bernie is a gem Absolutely the MVP.

By comparison, I’d watch this every week if it was always like this: Carry on. 100% V8SC does not disappoint. I go back and forth between them and MotoGP being the best racing on the planet (outside of karting). Great stuff.

November 30Nov 30 I don't think anyone is going to try the fairness method again when it comes to handling teammates competing for a title after seeing how it played out for McLaren. Then again most teams probably already knew it was a bad idea. It still probably would have worked out fine if Red Bull didn't fire Horner mid-season. Edited November 30Nov 30 by kevwun

November 30Nov 30 Wait, the team that made drivers switch positions because of "fariness" once again fucked up a decision? Who could have possibly since this coming? McLaren deserves ever bit of shit and scorn thrown their way and oh, fuck Zach Brown just because you are an arrogant, unlikeable fuck.

November 30Nov 30 McLaren went full Ferrari today. I would love one of the F1 twitter nerds to break down the whole field's starts. I'm curious if there is anything that shows how bad Lando's starts are, or if I'm just biased and convinced he's terrible at them.
November 30Nov 30 I’m guessing McLaren figured that if they did pit for the safety car, EVERYONE would have stayed out. I’m reminded of that one race where Hamilton started basically alone on the grid. They were fucked either way.

To be fair, if they hadn't switched positions earlier this season, Max would be 3 points closer to Lando, and a 3rd place finish next week probably wouldn't be enough. All the strategy talk...if McLaren just doesn't unnecessarily build their floors right on the limit, all of this is moot and they're celebrating tonight. If Max finds a way to steal this, McLaren may never live this down. Who knows if they'll be the dominant team next year with the new regulations. Vegas. Lando losing his front wing on Oscar's bumper 5 laps from the finish in Canada attempting a zero chance move. Oscar not having a single podium since August until today, including three self-inflicted crashes, one of which also took out Lando. Yeah, they've had poor strategy calls and awkward "fairness" positioning...but, moreso, they've made bone-headed major mistakes that have completely taken them out of races.

ETA: Especially today ... and I think part of that was because he was probably 90% resigned to his championship ending today barring something crazy. And something crazy just happened to happen, courtesy of McLaren themselves. Edited December 1Dec 1 by wood

December 1Dec 1 Mark Webber is meddling in things as well. He’s Oscar’s manager and we know his history with team orders.
December 1Dec 1 I am not a Max fan, but fuck it, I’m going for him to win it. He is clearly the best driver.

December 1Dec 1 Lawson getting the last laugh on Yuki is pretty funny. Liam hasn't exactly been good, but he's at least shown some (borderline illegal) fight. No amount of Japanese sponsor money can change how invisible Yuki has been all year.
December 1Dec 1 Fuck this toxic-ass team. Incredibly irresponsible by them. This statement even comes off as “Our bad (but if he did do it then he deserves all the abuse he gets!)”. The fact that it is coming from the people that have two fucking teams on the grid is even worse.
December 1Dec 1 All I heard was Max's engineer say that Norris had passed Kimi and wondering out loud if he let him do it on purpose. It was a bit out of the blue, so I could see why it would maybe raise an eyebrow for a second until you saw what happened.

It was either Crofty or Martin who said at the time that the comment should have been saved for the debriefing. That may have added fuel to the fire.
