December 17, 20241 yr We did our big family thing this year for thanksgiving, so Xmas is just gonna be three of us. We want to go out and would prefer something other than Golden Corral, although their holiday offerings are usually delicious. Stand in line or reservations, doesn't really matter.

December 17, 20241 yr go eat at a Chinese restaurant (fancy, not shitty) and order a real peking duck it generally has a lead time of 36 hours etc. It will be super delicious and a ton of fun.

We did the whole Christmas Day Peking Duck experience at First Chinese BBQ at the Asian shopping center on North Lamar for several years. As Gentiles and non-Asians, we were in the decided minority of the very busy and fun crowd. Good times!
December 18, 20241 yr We made reservations for La Pascina at the Austin Proper. I cooked last year and it was amazing pretty much all I did on Christmas Day.
