December 20, 20241 yr I still don't know what to think about either one of these teams based on their other games. ND - struggled at times but looks to be the better team when watching. IU - was the Ohio St just a bad game? OSU absolutely dominated them defensively, the score doesn't reflect the mismatch that it was. IU is a good team, especially defensively, just not sure how good. Ohio St could have just been a one off bad game. If not they are in for a long day. I expect a close game, but wouldn't be surprised if ND wins by 20. I would be very surprised if IU won by double digits.
December 20, 20241 yr I’m very excited about this game but I’m curious about how much interest there is around the country and with casual fans. Obviously it’s huge in Indiana. I spent my adolescence in northern Indiana about 30 miles from South Bend so I learned to hate Notre Dame, and Notre Dame fans, at an early age. I’m a Big Ten fan and I’ve been following (and profiting from) the Hoosiers’ history-making journey all season long. It’s complicated because my feelings about ND have softened since former Buckeye Marcus Freeman took over the coaching job. I have a lot of reasons to be interested in the game. Obviously the Fighting Irish have a huge national fanbase. The Hoosiers don’t. My assumption is that this game doesn’t seem all that sexy to the casual fan. But I don’t know. Is this something people are looking forward to or is it something they might watch just because it’s on, otherwise most people just assume that naturally ND will crush IU and they’re waiting to see what happens in the games tomorrow?I’ve been looking forward to this weekend all season. In August I was just hoping the Longhorns would be 1 of 12.Now we’re all here to the new format and it’s almost like a new season. Let’s GO!Hook’em!!!

I would be very surprised if IU won by double digits. IU went thermonuclear meltdown in the 2nd and 3rd quarters (fumble, botched snap for 23 yard loss on the punt, punt return for TD) and that let tOSU send the house and wipe out the IU offense. ND doesn't have the defensive talent of OSU and so if they can not shoot themselves in the foot they should be in a competitive game. I could see 20-17 type of score here. I do expect the Irish to win but IU could eek out a win if they get a break or two go their way.

I have to agree with you - but the winner will actually play a good team when they play Georgia; today's game proves nothing. That said the weather favors ND, but not by that much - go Hoosiers, because I love Irish tears ( as should any Spartan fan)

Indiana beating Notre Dame definitely qualifies for that. Notre Dame is good. People thought they would get the #5 seed over us. Indiana is the question mark since they got blown out by the lone good team they faced...kinda like someone else we know.

December 20, 20241 yr Looks like no heated field. That shit is going to be hard as a concrete parking lot. Ball slick, heavy, rock-hard. Glad to be where I am and not in South Bend. Or Happy Valley. Or Columbus OH.
December 20, 20241 yr It is cold as fuck. I can barely get my fingers or phone to work. Need to put my gloves back on so the beer and the cold don't freeze my fingers. I am heading in the stadium soon. The players walk from Mass to the stadium in the dark in the midst of college gameday and all the fans was unlike anything I've experienced here in 20 years of attending games. See y'all on the other side and hopefully see you gents on January 20. Go Irish and Hook Em! FUCK IU.
December 20, 20241 yr Go luck and thanks for your contributions over the years. My bracket at work has your Irish vs the Horns for the NC. I won’t tell you who I picked to win.Hook’em!!!

Notre Dame played zero good teams. However the middle of our schedule was pretty respectable with teams like Louisville Army Georgia tech Texas a&m etc all turning in good but not great seasons. 6 hours ago, Mittens said: Despise ND and most of their uniforms suck dead bear, despite having some of the easiest colors to show off, but these are sweet. The idea to wear green while inviting the Hoosiers to wear their home red uniforms would work so well that I'm sure no one employed in an athletic department could think of it.
