He last played on December 7th. Maybe he’s actually healthy.

  • I admire the talent that's been built up in Austin, but I honestly think ASU has got you beat. Unless you're talking about football players.  Then Texas comes out on top.

  • If y'all want to make this an OnlyFans girl battle instead of a football game, ASU is going to kick your fucking ass.

  • They allowed Josh Heupel at Ohio State's stadium. I don't see the distinction.

Yeah I’m there too. Goosby has played really well. I’d probably dress him just in case, but hold him out.

They’ll surely sit him and bond, and are just making asu account for them.

Thamel said Bond will play.

At what percentage of health? He's been playing hurt for a long time and each time he plays he reaggravates the ankle. It's been a total "Catch 22." He is a difference maker when he has his total speed. If the ankle is gimpy, he's mostly just a decoy, that opposing teams know can't beat them deep, nor can block effectively.

Fly them all the time. Never had an issue. When I booked United was same price but times were not convenient for me.

Bond has been practicing and will play.

I fully understand he can play. I read the same tweets.

The question is should he play.

Coming off a bum ankle, another week can’t hurt. We also have the good fortune to be able to allow him another week unless someone else is out.

I see your point. Bond isn’t a productive player when he’s less than 100%. I’ll leave it there.

I agree. But you said surely they'll sit him. They evidently won't be doing that.

The Texas Longhorns got some good news in the injury department Sunday.

According to reports from ESPN's Pete Thamel, Longhorns receiver Isaiah Bond is expected to return to the lineup vs. the Arizona State Sunday Devils in the Peach Bowl on New Year's Day.

Right. We’ll see how it plays out, but we’ll need him at 100% later.

Win or go home.  You play the fucking autistic waterboy with a Quato head growing out of his chest.

Was watching a Sun Devil podcast and they think they have nothing to lose so let it rip. They think only chance they have is Sam Leavitt going wild. So I took a look. He can run and moves well in the pocket. Keeps eyes downfield and can throw ball well off his back foot while evading pressure. Taaffe said he compares him to Marcel Reed but Marcel Reed does not look like any kind of threat to complete a pass once he is on the move. This guy is always a threat down field even under pressure. Putting this here for those that feel like taking a look. Confident Texas will figure him out but he will be a decent challenge.

Do we need to score 50 to win?

SEC Network interviewing a bunch of ASU players right now on SEC This Morning.  Assuming Horns players will be next.

Yes, each half.

We don't need to score 50 but we do have to start playing 4 full quarters if we want to win a title. Can't get away with these second halves after this week.

Gerry made a comment this morning that Cam Williams has been dealing with a lingering knee/leg issue prior to getting rolled up on against Clemson.

He made it sound like Williams was already set to have some sort of clean up procedure done after the season.

The Longhorns and Sun Devils spoke with the media this morning to begin the Peach Bowl week of festivities in Atlanta.

A couple of takeaways from the media availability time.

***

– First, the entire Texas team made the quick trip over to the College Football Hall of Fame – including Lance Jackson, Michael Terry III, Justus Terry and new portal addition DL Cole Brevard from Purdue.

The Longhorns will practice inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 12:45 ET.

– Speaking some with Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt, it is easy to see where his swagger comes from. Leavitt exudes confidence and combines that with an always counted out chip on his shoulder.

"I was just answering the comment to my fullest belief," Leavitt says. "I hope that every player on the field feels that they are the best. That is how it should be. You put all of this work in to get to this stage, so why would you not believe that yourself."

For whatever the reason, Leavitt was only available for about the first 10 minutes of the hour allotted to Arizona State. I do not know if there was an additional television responsibility or if ASU was just looking to hide him a bit. For what it is worth, Ewers and Manning each spent the full hour on the floor taking questions.

– Talking to Texas QB Quinn Ewers, he says the biggest thing he took away from the first trip to Atlanta was learning and growing more as a quarterback. Said you can't teach experience, you can only add it by learning firsthand.

Ewers also spoke about QB Trey Owens coming along in his freshman season.

– The belief is that WR Isaiah Bond will be completely ready for this game on Wednesday. Bond practiced with the team on Friday before the Longhorns departed from Austin.

Bond says he is "feeling great and expects to play on Wednesday," vs. Arizona State.

– I spoke some with OT Trevor Goosby who mentioned the learning curve of playing Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker, Shemar Turner and Shemar Stewart in his first real action that helped him get ready for extended snaps. Goosby says he prepares each week as though he will be starting and this week is no different, especially with RT Cam Williams questionable at the moment with a knee injury.

– Texas DL coach Kenny Baker spoke very highly of his incoming group of linemen – Justus Terry, Josiah Sharma and Myron Charles. Baker says the Longhorns being able to fend off Florida for the signature of Charles was a big win for him and the Texas staff.

Coach Baker told me one of the biggest reasons for the defensive line room playing at the level it is the buy in from Alfred Collins early on in his tenure. Baker mentioned Collins is a guy who is very well-respected in the locker room and once he was on board, the rest of the group followed quickly.

– I tell ya what, there isn't enough time to speak about the words Tashard Choice has for RB Tre Wisner. There was a lot of praise for the humility and team-first approach of Wisner.

Choice spoke about Wisner's vision and ability to get better as games progress.

Choice says Wisner came in to Texas weighing 177 pounds. Wisner will play in the Peach Bowl at 202 pounds and Choice hopes he is able to get to 210 by the beginning of next season.

I love Wisner and how he's playing, but it's hard for me to believe that he's currently carrying 202 pounds. Maybe he had a big Christmas

Quinn has never been comfortable in interviews.  He may not be an introvert, but he is definitely not a rah rah camera guy.

He seems pretty darn comfortable here(video below). Different scenario for sure but drastic difference.

That interview with SEC morning or whatever was the most comfortable I’ve ever seen him on camera

The post above is way better than the media availability from the other day. He looks like he’s been in front of a camera plenty here.
