Flipped a board just outside of Austin and found 2 Coachwhips and one Western Diamondback.  The buzz worm tagged one of the coachwhips and he took of.  I can't find anything definitive on whether thei

Awesome ratsnake SurlyBDR. Well, it was a very active day out in the Katy Prairie.  I figured it would be a good day to go with all the rain that we had, but wasn't expecting all the flooding.  I

I thought I was going to find a bunch of cool snakes today.  Only saw two ribbon snakes.  However, one was being eaten by a hawk, so that is pretty cool.  Not the best or sharpest shots, but still coo

I'm thinking hawk had probably caught the snek and was attempting to fly with it in its talons.  Snek breaks free and drops on unsuspecting woman.  Snek is pissed, so strikes at woman.  Hawk then goes to retrieve its prey.

I'm thinking that lady is a damn liar.  A snake falling from the sky isn't going to wrap around your arm and start striking your face.  The marks on her arm aren't consistent with talons, either.

She better not be lying. I sent her money for a “Snek Fell From The Sky And Bit My Arm All Over” t-shirt.

Found under an old storage lid next to my garden. Feel bad that I interrupted his winter nap but I needed the lid. Hopefully he sticks around my garden in the spring.

It’s not so much the angry gerbil attacking your arm, it’s more why an angry gerbil is attacking your arm

Harpo what dis snek? About two feet long. I might not have noticed it but I was out walking Bevo (female dog) and she noticed it. I never can get a great picture of sneks I encounter.

For those of you following crime stories in the news I’m still in Atlanta.

Also, copperheads are ultimately pretty thicc.

Even for a juvenile, that's pretty long and skinny.

The baby copperheads I have seen are much shorter and the copper coloring doesn't really fill in until they are pretty mature.

#3719

Not sure what it is, but sure it isn't a copperhead.  We shoot them just about every weekend when at the ranch between mid May and early July, and positive that isn't one.

No idea but definitely looks like a place you’d find rats and snakes

The area has a lot of rattlers.

This one was juvenile. The picture I took doesn’t capture how thin it is. I initially thought it was a large worm on top of that bush. It’s been raining a lot. Also the picture was taken at night so not sure if that helps with an identification.

You and @Dutch both have harmless DeKay's brown snakes.

Nothing about these snakes would suggest copperheads.  For those who want to become better at identification, check out Central Texas Snake ID on the Facebook.

Have the Atlanta Rappers been notified of your whereabouts?

This one is really stumping me unless you just suck at judging length. I can't think of anything other than some species of brownsnake.

Little Homesick and I are nursing this guy back to health. Found him out behind our warehouse. Looks like one of the feral cats might’ve gotten after him. Super docile, and according to Jr, he “appreciates what we’re doing for him. ab8c9f2057d47ab95efe589dfaf2c4ff.jpg

I love figs too, tell us more about the fig crops.  Do the birds eat them before they are ripe?

That’s me! Saw a pretty garden type snake, picked it up to move it beyond the back fence. SOB bit me, so it got the hoe and cut in half! Trying to be the nice guy, but he/she got the hoe!

Hook’em!!!
