December 26, 2024Dec 26 It's gotta suck when you've been a highly ranked program with Dan Marino and then having to slug it out with the Toledo Rockets. That's no shade or sarcasm. It'd be like us in a dogfight bowl with East Carolina or something. Edited December 26, 2024Dec 26 by Bullneck

December 26, 2024Dec 26 Flagrant unsportsmanlike? I'm not sure I've heard that phraseology before but apparently means you're ejected without the warning you normally get on your first unsportsmanlike. Anyone see what he did?

It’s been since the 48-14 game v the Nitters. Ranked #1, up 14-0, rolling towards another TD and Danny Marino throws an INT at the goal line. They scored 48 unanswered. That was the season we beat UGa in the Sugar Bowl on the 4th and 18 TD pass from Danny to John Brown. It’s been shit ever since. All we do is put guys in the NFL and the NFL HoF but, we can’t win when they are on campus.

December 26, 2024Dec 26 Good thing that the Pitt running back Reid's helmet is at least one size to large or he would have a broken neck.

I had to read Marino's wiki page to see if he won the Heisman and got a quick update on Pitt football. (Edit: I meant the bowl game. Not sure when Sherrill left but I assume he coached the loss to Pennst). Edited December 26, 2024Dec 26 by Bullneck

I saw a Toledo dude stomp on a Pitt player who was laying on the ground. That might've been it.

December 26, 2024Dec 26 That kid who just got the INT for Pitt I watched him destroy my high school’s team last season. Pretty much by himself.
December 26, 2024Dec 26 Nice! Dugger played at Aaron Donald’s high school. Led them to a state championship as the QB Edited December 26, 2024Dec 26 by PittsburghTiger
December 26, 2024Dec 26 Benching Lynch has really made a difference and could be a game winning move.

Not to belabor a point but, I have so many friends, and acquaintances, who played at Pitt and in the NFL and we all say the same thing in that every time we get to feeling optimistic the program kicks us in the nuts. Just from when I was in school, I had a writing class with future Cowboys Mark Stepnoski and Billy Owens. I probably have at least 20+ friends who played in the NFL, and we still joke, How did we suck? 2 minutes ago, satyanash said: It certainly has flipped since that comment Edited December 26, 2024Dec 26 by PittsburghTiger

It sucks a bit more of you remember that UTn opened the season with a win over an SEC school, on the road of course. With that and Northern Illinois winning at Notre dame, it could have should have been a banner year for the MAC.

December 26, 2024Dec 26 Not sure which is worse: letting the QB throw or that attempt at a tackle on the runback.
December 26, 2024Dec 26 Maybe just stick to wildcat and run the clock. Pittsburgh keeps trying to give this game away.

Not SURE why you are throwing the ball there when Duggar is moving the offense up and down the field on the ground. No need to kill the clock at all. December 26, 2024Dec 26 This is bowl-game football at its finest. It's objectively terrible football. But at the same time, it's intensely entertaining.

December 26, 2024Dec 26 Game was over if Pitt had stuck to the ground on the prior series, now it's a tossup.
