I still think its bizarre when fans lament players making "business decisions" as though there is anything more than that left in this game. It is literally a multi-billion dollar business. Everything that has happened over the last 20 years has been purely business. Give me a break. I'm fine with players protecting their health. Why risk losing life changing wealth so a toaster trophy can end up in a trophy case somewhere on campus?

Why play at all?

It says something about character. Ever player has the right to judge what’s best for them. Everyone else has the right to judge them on their choices. That’s how it works.

The watering down of the college game sucks, imo.

Let’s see if Colorado’s stars quit/check out/get pulled midway through their game.

Sebastian likes the darker flavors of 'tarts. He lives in Miami, should not surprise you, and if it bothers you, definitely racist.

Confusing … so Ward ducking out of half of a meaningless bowl game to protect a top 5 draft slot is totally different than when Bijan, Roschon, and Overshown excused themselves from the Alamo Bowl?

Or maybe you’ll find the same people are for or against these actions, regardless of team affiliation.

Deion is such a weenie.   Nice fake cry there pre-game.

Jeanty is going to break Barry Sanders' rushing record with at least 3 extra games and doing it against a bunch of MWC scrubs. The record book still doesn't include Barry's 222 yards from the bowl game for some reason. Life aint fair sometimes.

ECU is up 13-7 on NC-State early 3rd quarter in the Go Camping Military Bowl.  Welcome to the jungle!

BYU in all white vs. CU in all black seems pretty appropos, lol.

I guess you can do the homework and find all of those negative reactions towards Texas players who’ve opted out.

the record book has been all kinds of fucked up since they went to 12 games and also started counted bowl games but at least it was only 4 years.  5year Covid records are stupid.

For some reason this reminds me that some nozzle from Boise owns the record for most wins despite playing in some bush ass league compared to Colts (true imo) most p4 winning record

And it makes me mad all over again

it was stupid they didn't retro the bowl game stats. the only reason not to was the "marketing" around breaking records...

Yeah I remember all those times they advertise someone breaking a 36 year old record

Apples and orangutans. If he had noped out entirely, cool. Business decision.

But if you play to get yourself a personal record and once achieved peace out to leave your team dead offensively then you deserve all the criticism you have coming.

I like your misplaced optimism, and I really hope it's Oregon. We matchup much better against them than OSU.

Meh, I just don't see a difference. I think teams take pride in individual records as well, everyone knows nobody does it on their own in this game.

Refs call holding to cover up Hunter getting completely blocked out of the play lmao

Gotta love all the college football purists lamenting how the sanctity of the game is endangered by a player not playing a n the second half of the Pop Tarts Bowl. Meanwhile, college players are paid millions, given Lamborghinis to drive and are free agents at the end of every season. Guys, college football is no longer college football. It’s the NFL’s minor league with college affiliations. Those days of yore are gone and aren’t coming back.

You don't think maybe the coaches wanted to see what Emory Williams could do and this was all agreed upon ahead of time

Only to opt in to being destroyed by nfl defenses next year and being fucked up forever because his team has no line or players to throw to. I'd be fine with an actual governing body punishing the team and fining the players who opt out. If the bowls are meaningless than either don't have them or have the entire team opt out. Or make the bowls more meaningful by offering a mil or two to the winning team and bonuses for bowl game mvp etc.

So should the Pop Tarts Bowl. Imagine this had been in place years ago and Saban dealing with all that corniness.

Hell's bells, man. All football games are exhibition games. It was a great game, you got the win, one of the coolest/funniest trophies, and beat the Hurricanes. That was a win for the Cyclones all around.

It's such a great stadium to watch football in. Doesn't have the bells and whistles for the corporate types so it would never happen. But if you are only there to watch football it's absolutely fantastic.

PAC 12 stopped existing.

And besides BYU and CU have never played each other in the Big 12 and haven't played each other since 1988. So...not really two conference teams playing in any real sense.

How the fuck did NC State wins 6 games?? (Other than the obvious "They play in the ACC" answer) Holy shit they are maybe worse than their inner city rival, which is no small task.

And to think there were some idiots that picked them to win the ACC.. oh wait.. that was me. Fucking idiot.

So I had to go back and look at their schedule... and yeah, 6 wins tracks.

For now….it should be fantastic with the stuff the city is planning to do with that area including a massive upgrade of the Alamodome

It was the best game by a pretty large margin today. No matter that the CFP exists it's fun to win bowl games and beating Miami... always a nice add on!

Where can I make a prop bet on Sanders setting the record for times sacked next season? He holds onto the ball way too long all the time. He has a good and tremendously accurate arm but he waits until receivers are open to throw. He doesn't anticipate as well as his draft rankings say he does.

BYU looks like they’re going to soak it in Colorados ass all night.
