May 23May 23 Funny how draws works sometimes. Today, Joint and Tomljanovic clashed in the Rabat semifinals. Tomljanovic quit after 1 set, but they will face off again in the 1st round at the French open in a few days.
May 23May 23 Author Ajla has never won a title, good chance that’s as close as she ever gets again. Dani failed in Strasbourg.
June 10Jun 10 Emma Raducanu looking lovely and playing some exquisite grass court tennis at Queen’s today. Highlights: https://www.wtatennis.com/videos/4282541/raducanu-defeats-bucsa
June 10Jun 10 Author Katie barely beat Ajla there, she’s playing doubles with British Emma. Dani won 3 of last 15 games in the Netherlands 250.
June 12Jun 12 Author Kessler was up 4-1 in the decider, then kinda forgot how to play grass tennis. 7-5 for QZ.

One, I find 🇬🇧 Emma attractive, butt… Two, she is developing into a solid tennis player. She’s ranked 37th in the world now and has a very good grass game.
June 13Jun 13 Author The immortal Tatjana Maria beat Rybakina, that just shouldn’t happen. Elena may be done.
June 14Jun 14 10 hours ago, shadow_operative2.0 said: Bianca & both Emmas sucked today. Amanda rolled American Emma. Raducanu was up a break in the second set at 4-2, but the nerves got to her when she was serving at 4-3. She completely lost her first serve and then double faulted on game point to send it to 4-4. Then the China woman held serve easily and Raducanu started her serve going down 0-40. She then said “fuck it!” and played well again to bring it to deuce… then she got in her head again and lost two straight points and the match. She had the game to beat the China woman, but she needs to find a way to get out of her head. There wasn’t an ailment, nothing pulled or twisted. She just started thinking about it too much. If she can channel some zen shit, she could be a seeded player at the U.S. Open. 🇺🇸 Emma just can’t handle Anisimova’s game. She’s never beaten the American-born Russian. Emma didn’t play poorly, she just played someone who she can’t handle, especially not on grass. The Romanian Canadian fatty just isn’t very good at tennis. Edited June 14Jun 14 by Napoleon

June 16Jun 16 On T2 (Tennis Channel 2), the round table was talking to a guy named JIM LOEHR about sports psychology and overcoming normal brain activity to excel in sports. While he was talking about the importance of journaling and writing out your goals, not once, but repeatedly… Mirra Andreeva was going down in flames in the 3rd set against Frech. He mentioned that Jannick Sinner has one of the most abnormal brains that he’s ever seen. Andreeva may have slipped on the grass and fallen on her ass (though she won the point) around this time. She was so over this match and this court and was apparently ready to lose her serve to go down 0-5 and head to her bench for the changeover Loehr then starts talking about simple things like standing up straight with your shoulders back can induce secretion of “testosterone, which cuts through cortisol like a knife”. Soon after, Frech wraps up the match on her serve after sandwiching a break point between her two match points. The contrast of his words about a positive mindset vs Andreeva acting out all of the “Don’t do this!” list of things on screen was quite something. I didn’t see/hear the entire segment, but it was an interesting topic. It seems to be mainly for parents raising children for tennis and then later in life. “Helping them become a better, stronger human being.” -Jim Loehr He has written many books. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=jim+loehr+books&crid=1F3GLZOYXZ6SW&sprefix=jim+loehr%2Caps%2C89&ref=nb_sb_ss_p13n-pd-dpltr-ranker_2_9 Edited June 16Jun 16 by Napoleon
June 16Jun 16 Author 61-minute second set, followed by a 28-minute decider. Yeah, she’s got some growing up to do still. Sofia got fucking rocked by Masarova, who isn’t very good.
June 18Jun 18 Author Naomi & Keys lost, Amanda/Shnaider/Elena (against a different opponent) won. Now
June 19Jun 19 Author Other two teams are Belinda/Zverev & Errani/Vavassori (defending champs). Quote The mixed doubles event is shrinking from 32 pairs to 16, and there is a shortened format -- first-to-four-games sets until the final; no-ad scoring; match tiebreakers instead of a third set. Players still have time to sign up before the July 28 cutoff, and there is no guarantee that the 16 teams announced Tuesday will actually be in the draw in New York. The top eight teams based on their combined singles ranking will automatically get into the field; the other eight pairings will receive wild cards determined by a USTA committee.
June 22Jun 22 Bublik is one of my favorite male players (even though he is Russian, has horrible tats, and dresses like a homeless man in most tournaments), and he is having quite a summer. Bublik was the first player other than Carlos Álcaraz to beat Sinner in over a year, or so when he toppled Jannick in the quarterfinals to set up an all Russian Final Four. Zverev (Russian born & raised in Germany) lost to Medvedev (Russian living in Monte Carlo), who now faces Bublik (Russian playing for Kazakhstan and “based” in Monte Carlo… I think) who beat Russian Karen Khachanov in 3 tight sets in a tournament (Halle?) in Germany. Bublik’s skill set & unpredictability are a perfect match for grass, especially if he is serving well.
June 22Jun 22 Author McCartney Kessler won Nottingham, her third title in 10 months. Should be seeded at Wimbledon now. And this was funny in Bad Homburg.

He claimed at the French Open that tennis is absolutely NOT his number 1 priority. He puts time spent with his family at #1 and tennis is his job. His ranking dropped a bit, so he’s had to play more tournaments to bring his ranking back up and make up for lower prize money. So he’s been playing a bit more and put together this run this week. He’s a threat, though Best of 5 may wear him down. June 24Jun 24 Was running late and had heaps of luggage (to sound Australian), but I stopped by the Wimbledon grounds yesterday to check out their Museum & Gift Shop. (The qualifying is taking place across the street, or close by, so that the courts don’t get destroyed.) Old People will recognize this doll. Emma Raducanu’s US Open trophy. 🏆 Women’s undergarments over the years. Everyone had a pair of this in my class in the 7th - 9th grade window (maybe stretched into 10th grade). Trophies In 2022, they apparently dumped the whole “Miss” part of the name and welcomed in a run of Slavs. Djokovic’s run was stopped by Álcaraz. Maybe clearer here. The runs of Bjorg, McEnroe, and Becker with others sprinkled in. Different angle. Various keychains for £10 each in the shop. These tiny branded luggage tag & wallet/card holders on the top row were priced: £45 / £69 / £49 Parting shots… Less than a week away.
June 24Jun 24 Excited to attend Wimbledon for first time end of next week. Worked out perfectly during our London trip this time.

I tried to buy just a Grounds Pass around the 10th (I think) and the entire tournament was sold out. (I think that tickets went on sale June 6th. Nothing like the US Open. Also, the entire tournament grounds appear to have a footprint of about 1/3 of the U.S. Open. The grounds are tiny. Edited June 25Jun 25 by Napoleon
June 25Jun 25 Author He got this guy's leftovers. Quote The man was given a restraining order by Dubai police and banned from all Tour events, but officials at Wimbledon, which is organized by the All England Club, had to block him after a sweep of the public ballot applicants. https://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_/id/45572783/emma-raducanu-praises-wimbledon-officials-blocking-stalker-buying-tickets

June 25Jun 25 Joint beats Raducanu in 3, which will put her in the WTA top 50 next week for the first time in her career. Good stuff from the Michigan born Aussie
June 25Jun 25 This? https://www.wimbledon-debenture-tickets.co.uk/ I may be priced out of this year’s Championships. [emoji15] [emoji90]Unfortunately that’s it. And no food/beverage is included. Imagine my surprise when I learned that.Still will hopefully be a fun day.
June 28Jun 28 Author JPeg won in straights. Fun final scoreline for Joint to beat Eala for the Eastbourne title. 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(10)
July 21Jul 21 Author Venus beat Genie in a doubles match in DC. Raducanu teamed with Rybakina for a win. Katie got rocked in the first by Sakkari. Dani plays Linette shortly.
