May 14May 14 Carlitos beat Draper 6-4 , 6-4 I was expecting more out of Draper in a best of 3, especially with how erratic Carlitos has been playing. I think that Draper will have a much more difficult time in Paris playing best of 5 matches because he is such a large guy (though Stan does have a French Open title). Coco beat Mirra in straight sets. 6-4 , 7-6 Tomorrow’s Girls’ Semifinals… Still wait waiting for Sabalenka to play the chinawoman* who won the Olympic Gold Medal 🥇 before Coco’s opponent is known. *May not be the proper nomenclature, Dude.
May 15May 15 PS I’m not sure why Anisimova, who is currently ranked in the top 20, is playing a challenger event this week. The tournament organizers aren’t complaining though.

That girl (P.S.) knows how to choke mid match. 5 hours ago, perfectchaos007 said: PS I’m not sure why Anisimova, who is currently ranked in the top 20, is playing a challenger event this week. PS- Sinner is better at tennis 🎾 than Pepi ever will be at soccer ⚽️.

His Italian was supposedly fairly rough until he went to train at the national tennis center, where everything was in Italian. If you listen to him speak English, you will notice that he does not sound like an Italian speaking English. Nothing about his accent or body language would indicate that he has ever even been to Italy before this tournament. If I were speaking English with Sinner somewhere in Italy (outside of Tyrol) in front of Italians who didn’t follow tennis, I would be mistaken for being the Italian in our conversation at least 9 times out of 10 (due in no small part to my time in Argentina) over Sinner.
May 17May 17 Speaking of Italians at the Italian Open… Paolini 🇮🇹 plays Gauff 🇺🇸 in the final today at 10am CDT. Paolini 🇮🇹 & Errani 🇮🇹 beat Schneider 🇷🇺 & Andreeva 🇷🇺 in the semis to play in the final tomorrow. Sinner 🇮🇹 is in the final tomorrow vs Álvaraz 🇪🇸. The local fans will have lots to cheer for. Edited May 17May 17 by Napoleon
May 17May 17 1) The fact that The Tennis Channel 🎾 has a sound feed that is about a full second ahead of the video feed is really annoying! 2) Don’t call me racist because I’m pulling for Paolini 🇮🇹. I just can’t quite that little Italian bundle of joy. She’s my little caramel macchiato. Full Disclosure: Paolini is also of (relatively recent) African descent, but not to the same degree as her American opponent. Edited May 17May 17 by Napoleon

May 19May 19 On the Tennis Channel right now we have a replay of today’s match in Strasbourg between Ashlyn Krueger and McCartney Kessler and I am realizing that this is finally confirmation that these two women are not, in fact, the same person. They both have minimal personalities attached to their tall blonde, long-legged slim bodies. 🤷♂️😴
May 19May 19 Author I watched some of it this morning. Attractive women, not great tennis on that surface.
May 19May 19 I just watched the Italian Open Men’s Final and boy did Sinner choke at times and boy did Álcaraz do some shit that left you asking- “How did you save that? Are you fucking kidding me?!?!” Also, Sinner’s Italian is totally fine at this point. (I think that he went to the national tennis center at 14 years of age, so he’s had time to perfect it with peers & coaches. But if I understand some of his Italian, he thanked the crowd for coming and supporting him and then I think that he mentioned that his brother went to the Formula 1 race in Italy instead of coming to watch him in the final. They cut to his parents (Hanspeter & Siglinde Sinner) and the dad smiles in amusement and the mom chuckled at the mention of a sibling choosing the race over his brother. Álcaraz will be the overwhelming favorite in Paris when final odds come out.

May 20May 20 Iga has played like trash all year including on the clay. I will be shocked if she makes a deep run at the French let alone win it.

She did the round table bit where they watch games live and comment on the match, the players, stories of difficulty playing in conditions like that, favorite memories from that tournament… More of a conversation between tennis fans/former players while watching a match than actual play-by-play and color commentary. They also bring in a guest (via video) each hour to interview them (frequently while a match is still showing via split screen. There is an aspect of The Today Show / Good Morning America / The View to the daytime programming of T2 and it can serve as a boot camp for helping former players to become more comfortable contributing live, in front of the camera.
May 22May 22 These are the odds to win the French Open: One problem is that… A woman with better odds to win than Anisimova, Schnaider, Osaka, Jabeur, Navarro, and Pegula is… BIANCA ANDRESCUU …and yet she didn’t even qualify to play in the tournament. She opened qualies with a 6-0 , 6-0 match on Tuesday and then had match points on Wednesday and lost. 😆 Whoops!!
