Supposedly gonna get cold in 10 days or so. First forecast I saw showed it missing Texas. Now they're saying we're gonna get hit.

Sweaty ass for 2025.

I shouldn't have to be cutting grass and weed eating in fucking late December.

Upstream in western Nebraska where the high pressure will be centered, temperatures will be around –22° F. The animation shows the 1045 mb high center moving due south into the Texas panhandle, where the pressure already will be 1040 mb.

Some forecast temps on Jan. 6 at midnight CST:
..6...Enid
..7...Amarillo
..9...Oklahoma City
..9...Tulsa
13...Lubbock
14...Wichita Falls
15...Abilene
18...Midland
18...San Angelo
19...Dallas
21...Waco
24...Austin
26...San Antonio
32...Houston
34...El Paso
35...Corpus Christi
46...Brownsville

According to ICON, even more Arctic high pressure systems (each at least 1041 mb) will be lined up all the way across the Arctic to northwestern Siberia. Major cross polar flow sets up, ready to move into Canada and then the U. S.

We ignore ICON at our peril. I think this will be the real deal.

The temperature is dropping about 20 degrees in Montana between today and tomorrow. It has been in the 40s for highs and it will be in the low 20s for highs for the rest of the week.

We paid for roof, walls, floor, heat pump, and insulation. Fuck going outside before it's warm and toasty.

What about midnight on Jan 10 on I-35 between Arlington and Austin?

lol I'm in the Arctic at this moment, about 71° N in Norway, and it's 35 degrees outside. That other stuff sounds shitty.

44 right now. calling for a high of 87. We are in for a massive cold front aren't we?

Anyways, I am heading to the river. Sucks the Coeds are all on winter break. But there should be some talent.

Last Monday -8 going to work, today mid 40s…

Some weather models are predicting a snowstorm next week. This is the Euro, but the ICON is suggesting something similar.

Well, The Weather Channel's long range forecast for the Nashville TN area looks brisk.  There is an 8 day stretch (Jan 6-13) where the warmest daily high is 36 and the warmest nightly low is 22.  If that forecast holds up, there won't be much sweaty ass around here.

This is scary and crazy

It’s almost New Year’s, so of course the weather here is nice.  A little chilly tomorrow, but New Year’s Day is looking glorious.  May have to pick up seats for the game.

El Paso feels left out

We will be left out by the time it shows up.  Austin may not even get below freezing at the rate the forecasts are changing.

Apparently fishing for sea bass can be as treacherous as eating sea bass.

Just looked well be in the 50s here in western Oregon.

I thought you moved to North Carolina (from College Station).

Nah, but that does sound very familiar, but it isn't me.

We have two threads for non-Texas winter. No one here cares about Oregon Louie.

Looks like just regular ol' bipolar January weather for Houston. Next 7 days feature a mix of cool and dry, gray and drizzly, warm and muggy, Thunderstorms, and then finally a fairly robust cold front.

Looks like that would cost about $6K for the night.
