To make matters worse, canceling golf made me want a massage instead. I had to call my private masseuse on short notice to fit me in which caused me to have to push back my dinner reservations at Uchiba. That, in turn, made me stay out later than I planned. So I overslept this morning and had to push back the departure on my private jet to Aspen this morning. The entire day was REALLY rough and spilled over to today. Utter chaos.

February 14Feb 14 I can't lose any more tree limbs, man.No kidding. I hope that’s not real. Luckily I just had some trees trimmed

February 14Feb 14 I still mourn the Lacebark Elm I lost after the storm in ‘21. It now lives on as Stumpbush, proud but diminished.

Only saving grace was I was able to take it down myself, and didn’t have to give in to the circling band of jackals trying to quote me $2k to take down a tree. Didn’t even destroy my house in the process (don’t mind that dented gutter, it was totally already there).

February 16Feb 16 Yesterday morning it snowed for 3 hours before relenting to the temp rising to a sunny, balmy 43 mid afternoon. Then it snowed again around 10 PM. Very weird day for us, weatherwise.

February 17Feb 17 Fucking hell. Soccer tournament in Frisco. First game Saturday started around 3pm and it was pretty warm to start the game, at halftime when the front blew threw it was chaos. Tents and chairs flying away with all the wind. Impossible to play the ball in the air. Girls were freezing. It was wild.

CHIEFIf you're a Costco member, they have a knockoff brand (Weatherproof?) that's damn near identical (I have both the EB and Costco version) for about twenty bucks. Too good of a deal not to have a couple pairs stashed away for emergency use.
February 18Feb 18 People who are not trekkers really wear that gear for everyday? So much that you need 3-4 pair?
February 18Feb 18 Lightweight. Comfortable. Breathable. Water repellent. More comfortable & useful than denim. Pretty much a no-brainer when the weather turns cold or soft.

I just don't know why own 4 pair of anything the same. Even in the field I change my "uniform". Well guess I wore mustard yesterday. Going to mix it up and go with tan since my khaki is in the wash and it is not shades of grey week. Anyways, sorry for the fashion derail. Do we drip or wrap? I was taught you wrap so you don't drip.
February 18Feb 18 Wrap outside, open cabinets and drip inside for faucets with water lines in exterior walls.

February 18Feb 18 I wear sweats underneath jeans when it's ball shrinking cold out. That, ski jacket, gloves, and a toque is plenty for necessary trips outside.

This past weekend, buddies and I had a golf trip up near Gun Barrell City. Sunday morning we teed off at 10:04 with a temperature of 35 and "Feels Like" 27 and an 11 mph wind. Wore the thermals, khaki slacks and a long sleeve shirt and parka and wool socks and never got uncomfortable for the entire round.
February 18Feb 18 My warmth routine when duck hunting has always been to 1) wear neoprene waders and 2) fart in them frequently. Works pretty well.
