Yeah, it blew up quickly.  And the Palisades is about as well-to-do of a community as there is in LA.  It went from 10 acres to 1,200 acres in just an hour or so.

Austin needs to learn 1 thing from LA. If you build in canyons prone to drought shit is going to burn. We make fun of people who live in coastal areas due to hurricanes. Well same for these fucks.

Back to Texas. It is still cold out.

What’s your name? LOL

I saw video from a burning man event, the one where a roller coaster’s worth of 2x4s were tumble nailed into a form the size of an opera house. There were fire tornados spinning off that fire, too.

season 9 stonecutters GIF

They've preemptively shut the power off to our entire neighborhood and SCE says it may stay off until Thursday.  Just booked the wife and daughter a hotel room.  I'll stay home in the dark with the animals.  No wifi, no power, no heat, gotta keep the fridge closed.  But I'll have a hot shower as the gas will still work.  But the furnace requires power, so no heat.

Counterpoint: unlimited, uninterrupted fapping.

Plus, 80 mph Santa Ana winds blast furnace fire will take care of that ‘no heat’ part.

Also, you could take the pets to your boat and watch the fires from off the shore.

Thus storm on Dallas is going to be messy. It’ll snow, sleet, and when light precip be freezing rain.

Pro tip from the north: do not shovel any snow - let the entire event play out so you don’t have an ice rink. The snow provided traction and catches the ice. In 2007 we had a storm that alternated all three. 3” snow, 4” sleet, then freezing rain. It was on Valtine!s Day. Google to see the impact of these.

You know your house better than I, but our gas water heaters crapped out when the power went out.

Our stove worked, with a match.

Uhh, have you looked north in the last 10 mins? Massive fire in San Gabriels right now.

I’m watching KCAL and they just had the LAFD spokesperson on who asked all off duty firefighters to come in to assist. They said it hasn’t rained in downtown LA since May, which is crazy.

@Sbbruin is a stickler for the rules.

Stay safe @Sbbruin❤️

My family and I had our own traumatic experience with the Bastrop County Complex Fire. Total horror and dread. Wouldn’t wish it on Barry Switzer (ok that’s too far, he can diaf).

the roads were so full that people abandoned their cars and starting walking.  The news showed the fire department pushing the cars out of the way with a D-8 dozer.   That's not gonna buff out.

The Cotton Bowl roof is always open. JerrahWorld not so much.

I know, that is the joke.

Hope you're okay, Bruin, and I hope your house makes it unscathed.  Watching the Altadena fire on TV, and it looks terrible.  Evac order is all the way down to just north of where I used to live in Pasadena.  There are a ton of homes in danger.

Dusting of snow up on the Golden Spread overnight.  Temps in the low 20's.

The cold weather don't mean shit compared to those fires in Cali.

1 - 2 inches of rain forecasted this PM in Austin. Probably means we'll get a trace.

Regardless, that extra 4 or 5 degrees above freezing today is sorta big.

Snowing in N. DFW quite a bit.  Both the city and my wife might get 6+ inches today

Already about 4 inches on the ground in WiseCo. Drive from DFW wasn't bad, just idiots that were going slower than they needed to. OMG, it's snowing! There were a couple spots that could have been blizzard worthy if the wind was blowing.

Yeah, but it will snow more than 30 seconds so there’s a difference.

Who is going to help with the six inches?

I kid, I kid....

Weather is looking like it's gonna be around 32 all day in DFW and then plunge and stay cold for a while. Looking like it's gonna be icy as hell up there, wonder what all will be disrupted

Lucky for me I get to go to the airport in the morning.

Maybe not. Over 1,000 flights cancelled so far at DFW.

when I lived in Washington state, it was a section known as the banana belt, or the Tri-Cities (Tri-Shitties).   The mild winters usually had the temperature hovering around freezing. Which led to the common occurrence of snow melting during the day, turning into water and then freezing hard once the sun went down.  “Black Ice” was the term for it, and you would be driving along only to hit a large section of highway that was a skating rink, and good luck hitting your brakes or trying steer out of it.

Stay safe people
