Up to 2" hail and sideways rain in NW Travis between CP and the lake, about 20 minutes ago.   No damage though.  Sunny skies now.

Looks like it's headed to Domain/Q2 where the soccer game is supposed to begin at 7:30.

So extra flopping tonight on the pitch?

Unbelievable wind and rain at Westover and Mopac. No hail so far.

Very close to you. Huge tree across the street cracked in half. Was sitting on the porch and watched it happen.

Pics of the twister? That’s my neighborhood (but I’m down the hill). Didn’t see / hear any tornado but the wind and hail was intense.

I once had a grapefruit sized testicle. Had to go to the doctor. Turned out a had a blood clot. So long story short, if you have grapefruit sized nuts, go to the doctor.

Blue skies now in 78753 after 30 minutes of crazy weather.

Gonna go see if the taco trucks survived.

the cell over Fredericksburg is gonna grow. S austin and Hays is gonna get hammered like someones mom.

KXAN said they got 1.83” in about 30 minutes at 360 and Bull Creek. Wild.

Storm radar keeps showing something blowing up out of that cell, but the weather folks aren’t saying anything about it.

Got some small pea-to-gravel hail in 78724. Some nice rain. Power went out about 5-10 minutes before the rain hit. Wife and kids barely got out of the car and onto the porch before it started coming down. Lasted about 20 minutes and the sun is out again.

This is the view from New Braunfels of the storm as it went over Austin.

Now we wait for Austin Energy power restoration. Feels like it could be a while. The texting service has no ETA

Based on photos from a friend, looks like it got within 2-3 feet of the bottom of the 38th Street Bridge over Shoal Creek.

not 100% sure but I think that Shell station killed a Tesla on pump 6.  Door handles look Tesla-ish.

I would interested in getting some sort of confirmation on this one.

I was out on a run and saw the clouds roll in.  I was at Prickly Pear and West Rim when it started to rain.  I made one block to Cat Hollow before I turned early to go to the house.  Then made it 4 houses before I realized I needed to take cover (maybe two blocks from the house).  Huddled up next to a garage and saw all sorts of big branches come down and a shit ton of hail.

There were six-eight inches of water going through the street by the time I finally started to make my way back home.

AUSTIN, Texas — The severe storms that blew through the Austin area on Wednesday evening led to numerous water rescues, including one that has become a recovery mission.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) and the Austin Fire Department (AFD), water rescues had to be conducted throughout the area after the storms blew through.

Medics conducted a water rescue in the 2200 block of W North Loop Blvd. in North Austin, with reports of two people in the water around 7:25 p.m. Rescuers located one person in the water holding onto a tree and were able to rescue them. By around 7:43 p.m., the rescue transitioned to a recovery mode for the second victim who was swept away in the water.

According to AFD, a water rescue happened around the 3200 block of Steck Ave., with reports of a woman stuck in her car in the water. AFD ultimately said the woman had no injuries, although the car was described as "halfway under water."

First responders with AFD responded to a call of "people in the water" in the 7600 block of the N. Interstate 35 service road in the southbound direction. Two people were located and rescued from the water and were treated on-scene by ATCEMS.

ATCEMS said a rescue was conducted near Guadalupe Street and Airport Boulevard, where a strong current pulled a person downstream. A community health paramedic and a Texas DPS trooper successfully rescued the person.

Both ATCEMS and AFD crews responded to a vehicle rescue in the 3500 block of Spicewood Springs Road, which ended with no injuries.

i was up in RR, watching MI-8 and got all kinds of notifications on my phone

came back to myplace near Anderson and Burnet and my two wooden adirondack chairs on my front porch had slid off my front porch and tipped over... then went to the back yard and a chunk of my fence fell over.

spent about 10 mins trying to temp brace the fence until tomorrow when I can see if I cant get a crew over to repair.

minor in the size of things.

Hi Neighbor.  I would be curious too.  The way it went from torrential downpour to torrential downpour plus 70mph+ winds in the matter of seconds was incredible to witness.  I didn’t get pictures but parts of this neighborhood look as bad as the snowstorm.  That was probably the third worst storm I’ve been through in Austin.  Only behind 2000 and 28yrs ago yesterday.

Hydromet east of here shows 2.3” in about 20mins (and not the good kind).  I guarantee it was more than that.
