I got my boy out from La Junta. As far as I can tell the whole camp got to high ground well in advance of the bad stuff and watched the camp get obliterated. My son is 8 and they took the younger kids

Sorry, it was just on air for about 5 minutes.  Supposed to be winding down here locally late afternoon as Jimmy mentioned.

Damnit.
So that’s two kids for certain as my cousin like me is a Kappa Delta so damnit. At least two still don’t know the fate of their babies.
Damn. When I was a counselor at Waldemar I was 19 and we had the kids for 5 weeks basically. The whole month. My cabin was all 8 year olds and one 7 year old who came with a broken arm. I cannot fathom waking up in the middle of the night to this. 7 girls per cabin and one counselor. Counselors are mostly but not all around the same age I was then.

Depending on when you were there, you might have known my sister and cousins. She was a Tejas.

Our son just finished 1B at La Junta with our daughter poised to do either Mystic or Waldemar next year.  My wife is hitting refresh on all these videos muttering "fuck that, we'll send them to Cheley."

Nice. I was a Comanche. The coolest thing there outside of canoeing (war canoe) was being taught to ride horses by Connie Reeves (a fucking legend who is in the Texas Cowgirl museum. HOF level lady) she was still there when I was a counselor teaching riding, and she passed away at 101 after a fall from her favorite horse Dr Pepper. 🌶️

Me riding in quadrille (teaching horses how to dance basically) on my favorite horse Gunsmoke. That fucker was fast and if I could have stolen and kept him I would have. He’s the handsome fella with tan and black mane and tail in the middle.

I would expect these storms to re-fire tonight.  Maybe not, but these remnant lows love the night air.

My eldest just finished her Hilltopper year. Was the Tejas stern and competed in War Canoe for 3 years. My baby is a Comanche and was stern of 2nd War Canoe. That is a great pic.

Onion Creek might flood, based on rainfall near Blanco.

I'm on Onion near Drip and it's not up much.  Definitely not a flood threat at the moment.

The video of the cabin being washed away posted a few times was from La Junta. It was taken down because parents were pissed that the guy was tweeting so much about it.

Same thing my daughter is saying

So my two girl cousins who live in Houston and are sisters each know a different missing child. I don’t want to think it’s more than just the two whose names have been circulating but any child missing is too many. One is the daughter of my eldest cousin’s sorority sister, the other is the niece of my youngest cousin’s sorority sister. This is too much. The aunt of one of the missing little girls came to my aunt and uncle’s funerals (my cousins parents died 3 months apart- he from a heart attack and she from early onset dementia) in 2023.

so by my count at least now 3 missing confirmed with no answers as of yet. Damnit.

And it’s been posted many subsequent times here. But I’m spreading disinformation according to the guy negging me repeatedly. So I’ll stop posting. I am hearing relatively good news with respect to the low number of possible fatalities at Mystic. I hope that info is correct.

Maybe just grow tougher skin.

Yeah, this whole situation still makes me want to puke.
Mother Nature gives zero fucks, and no matter how much we think we know and can predict…we haven’t figured her out all the way. And this state in particular is unforgiving in that respect.

My sister rode quadrille. My niece is a Comanche. Connie was a legend. She was a drill sergeant.

I just got confirmation that Jane Ragsdale, the operator/owner of Heart of the Hills drowned.

My wife just showed me a picture of two girls around 8 sitting in a helicopter that got airlifted out. It was daytime.  I am not posting it. But there are active rescues still happening it appears.

can we crowdsource this retard for posting so much disinformation?

Most of what he has posted my daughter is getting from first person texts and screenshots from friends who have relatives there. Homesick horn says there are helicopters in the air. My daughter is part of a group mobilizing to go help with cleanup early next week. Not sure what to tell you.

Latest estimate is another 1 - 2 inches in Austin by tomorrow night with the system pushing things back to the west over the impacted area during the day tomorrow.

100% agree. That’s what I’m attempting to do.

painful stuff below. Warning…

Two of the parents of the missing girls have ok’d this post on FB (I didn’t post it) or I would not post at all or even spoiler it.

but that’s how I know there are at least 3 kids confirmed missing at this point. My youngest cousin told me the name and it’s neither of these two cuties we all pray are alive below. Keep thoughts and prayers high as you can.

this is a gut punch 🥊  🙏🏼  📿

We’ve migrated back to Kerrville, actually my side of town (south). Birds are doing slow, low level passes. I’m back at my house. But the flight pattern, and the non-urgency of the helicopters, make me sick at what they’re now looking for.

Reports of blackhawks ( and if so, no doubt the TXTF1 birds out of Austin and SA) along with Travis County STARFlight and TX DPS.

Pretty sure this is one of the DPS birds hoisting below...(lower left corner video)
