July 4Jul 4 Holy fuck. That’s awful. Did they give any updates on how many have already been rescued?
July 4Jul 4 24 minutes ago, Homesickhorn said: We’ve migrated back to Kerrville, actually my side of town (south). Birds are doing slow, low level passes. I’m back at my house. But the flight pattern, and the non-urgency of the helicopters, make me sick at what they’re now looking for. It's still a rescue situation and not yet a recovery op. Known victims would be gotten to first with a quick, deliberate flights. What you described above are active search patterns. Finding adults (even harder kids) in brush or trees in flood waters takes time and slow, deliberate, repetitive flight paths. Edited July 4Jul 4 by BillyGoatHill
July 4Jul 4 Popular Post Fucking hell. I served on a board with Jane a few years back. She and her late husband have been family friends since my dad moved us here in ‘88. I left here when I graduated high school, and never looked back. Until I moved back here a year and a half ago. This is a wonderful place (politics excluded), to raise a child as a family, or a single dad like myself. I went to sleep last night and it was sprinkling. I woke up periodically throughout the night to a torrential downpour. At 8am this morning, my backyard was underwater. That’s when the hair on the back of my neck stood up. I reached out to my firefighter friend, and questioned the three flash flood alerts I’d received starting at 3am. I wasn’t able to do shit, other than load and unload stuff for the first responders. I had to stand down when it came to getting into the fray. I’m having a lot of trouble with what’s going on. I was able to watch a woman rescued via helicopter, from a tree. It reminded me of the footage from 87. People who I’ve known all my life, and consider family, have lost their homes. If these Mystic kids are gone, I’m going to lose my shit. I don’t really pray anymore, but I’ll do whatever it takes to just get some good news. I absolutely hate feeling helpless, and that’s how I feel right now. I woke up today, and planned on a day of drinking. Man, that changed. Sorry for the rant, but it’s been a fucking day.

July 4Jul 4 Are you serious. Please say this is just speculation and not 100% true. It’s true. Reports of blackhawks ( and if so, no doubt the TXTF1 birds out of Austin and SA) along with Travis County STARFlight and TX DPS. Pretty sure this is one of the DPS birds hoisting below...(lower left corner video) Lower left vid is a DPS bird.

July 4Jul 4 TxDot finished redoing the Hwy 281 bridge over the Guadalupe within the last year. Tonight the water and debris are supposed to peak 10 feet over the road. I don't see how it survives. Small problem compared to those missing.

July 4Jul 4 Quote Three generations of the same Texas family are also missing in the floodwaters. Deeann and Gary Knetch, their daughter Megan Moeller, her husband Jake Moeller and the couple's young daughter Harley were all staying in an RV at HTR Tx Hill Country Campground in Kerville. News of their disappearance comes after it was reported that an entire RV park whose vehicles were filled with young families was swept away. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14876425/texas-river-guadalupe-flooding-map-live-updates.html
July 4Jul 4 Was driving home from Austin Oak Hill HEB (confirmed open), about 15 minutes ago, and saw two Texas A &M search and rescue vehicles, one with a trailer stacked with two Zodiacs, hanging out at intersection of Circle Dr. and 290 West. Hope they don’t run out of time.

July 4Jul 4 I do hope they continue to develop warnings for flooding. Sirens 🚨 and all the bells and whistles. I just don’t know how you combat this below shared graphic but I guess you have to think of it like a tornado warning. So to speak, you have minutes to move.
July 4Jul 4 These right here are essential https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Version-RunningSnail-Emergency-Flashlight/dp/B01MFCFKG5/ Malpractice not to have one especially if you're outside cell service range.

Can’t have said it better, 😢 I need a cry emoji reaction. This is where I wish I had the smarts to come up with something that would give people at least a few minutes. I’d take 5 mins over nothing. But i doubt anything could give you the requisite amount of time to get clear a coming a wall of water like that. Nothing. I feel so defeated. 😞
