Haven’t caught up but the lady on KSAT ripped them for the pathetic press conference of everyone gargling each other with almost zero additional new info.

Its still live, but you can just go back until the immediate end of the press conference for the comments from the studio.

LCRA "We do not anticipate needing flood control release at this time."

Two hours later starts flood releasing.

LCRA is some hillbilly that looks out his window and opens the gate when the water shows up.

They embody the Texas spirit by sticking together. You won't find that in Commiefornia

This presser was delayed 90 minutes for this? Did it take them that long to agree the proper sequence to kiss ass?

Now Hot Wheels is trying to to invoke the image of children clinging to trees for exactly what purpose?

"Pray so much." Great job, dipshit.

Someone should check flight tracker. Good odds the press conf was delayed because Dementia Don insisted they wait for Kristy Gnome.

Yeah, I've got a lot of standing water in my backyard here in 78613 and a steady river in the side yard between my neighbor's house. We're not in danger of flooding here but it's going to be a soggy mess for days to come.

That's a good point to anyone doing relief work. I wear my shrimping boots near the water and hiking boots the rest.  Keep your feet moving. They will tear you up.

They wait until it's too late then over react. Yesterday " they didn't forsee needing to open Starke dam or any flood gate operations with this event."  Despite the high CFS on the Llano alone.

This is basic math one dude could figure out. Llano at 68k cfs or whatever into a constant level lake like LBJ means you need to release enough water to account for 68k cfs of water coming in plus whatever falls in other tribs, so start filling Travis up ahead of time versus reacting.

They should have drawn down LBJ MF And Inks several feet to give room for surge knowing if it stopped raining the continued inflow would fill those lakes right back up over the coming weeks.

I was thinking about this too. Either LCRA (or whoever makes these decisions) is completely incompetent, or there was concern for the safety of boaters on those lakes if they opened up the floodgates earlier because they had to know the water was coming.

After seeing the footage of all the water flowing over Starke dam I feel like the only reason to not open them sooner was concern over the safety of the people celebrating the 4th on the lakes. If that wasn’t the case then someone should get fired.

Most realistic dream of my life. Her and I were on a sportfisher catching tuna and sipping wine;  we alternated running the  boat and angling. She made a fantastic lunch and fed it to me while I fought a fish. She could run a boat,  it was hers.

Woke up when we had just anchored up and were heading into the Salon for some fun.

Violently turned off my alarm but couldn't get back. She had a splendid sun dress on.

why the fuck is a county judge fucking talking at all????   you have no fucking reason to be talking.  unless you saved people yourself.

Just a reminder that in Texas, the Chief Executive of a County is called "County Judge". It's like the President of the County. He or she is head of the commissioner's court, etc.

They could slowly start drawing them down.  While moving water into Travis. Even dumping 1000cfs into Travis would be something. They regularly let 1000cfs through Austin and Town lake for farmers with no effect of boating on an interim release schedule.  Also " no planned releases" then let it rip hours later doesn't support your argument.
