January 1Jan 1 Pot roast is going, black eyed peas simmering, cornbread, mashed potatoes and okra all ready to go in the oven/on the stove…. Time to sit down with the big guns and destress… That was BULLSHIT. Edited January 1Jan 1 by troph

January 1Jan 1 Popular Post How was the one on Bond INT not targeting? He was completely defenseless and the db made forcible contact to his head. Definition of targeting.
January 1Jan 1 Just now, ClubWhatever said: How was the one on Bond INT not targeting? He was completely defenseless and the db made forcible contact to his head. Definition of targeting. Exactly. Everyone harping on Taafe but it was not called on Bond. At least the shit refs were consistent
January 1Jan 1 4 minutes ago, Hermanator said: It definitely could have been targeting. But they didn't call a very similar type of contact with the face mask to the helmet earlier in the game against ASU. Would have been absolute robbery if they called it there and they knew it. on the interception our guy was hit with a launched shoulder to helmet IIRC. No call then too.

January 1Jan 1 It wasn’t targeting on Taaffe. I don’t think it was targeting on the ASU guy either during the big 12 title game.

January 1Jan 1 Wasn’t targeting on Taaffe. Didn’t launch or lower his helmet. Simple fact of helmet to helmet contact does not make it a penalty
January 1Jan 1 Is there any chance we see the Bond of the first half of the season again? Feels like I was watching 2009 Texas offense today. Colt to Shipley and not a lot else.

The penalty for violating this rule is a five-yard penalty with three-and-one enforcement. Now do the one for offensive holding and tell me if they call that.
January 1Jan 1 19 minutes ago, The_Great_Hornsby said: They didnt want to decide the game on that play. It was targeting. It was helmet to helmet. Them not calling that was the most shocking thing of the day after the way they had officiated up to that point in ASU's favor. If you look at the rule, a few posts back, the refs got it right. Clean straight up hit. No intention to maim. Great stop, btw

January 1Jan 1 Popular Post I've said this since Ewers played his first snap. I'm going to say this one more time and for the last time, unless Sark wants to fucking pay me. - Ewers cannot process information quickly enough. For this reason, he struggles to read zone defenses and he gets surprised by blitzes coming free (his reaction is startle/panic). - He succeeds when he throws to "WRs running routes", simple RPOs, etc. Last season and early this season, he feasted on RPOs with slants/skinny posts behind the LBs. Do these very simple things and we have the talent to beat anyone: - Ewers should never, ever have his back to the LOS...for any reason. - Shotgun formation, keep Ewers' chest/eyes oriented downfield 100% of the time. He needs 100% of the available time to see and think. - No long developing plays with all the bullshit. None. - Passing plays should follow this formula: receive the shotgun snap, read 1st option, read 2nd option if necessary, throw it into the stands if nobody is open. If you thought it was man and it's zone, throw it into the stands. If a blitzer is coming free, throw it into the stands. Not one thing more. Cut your losses and move onto the next play. - Run the fucking ball if it's working. If it's working just okay, then run enough to keep the LBs honest and the OL motivated. That's it. We do that on offense, with our defense we can beat anyone. It ain't hard. Surely guys who are paid millions can figure this shit out.
January 1Jan 1 The last three offensive plays by Texas were pretty good. First three pretty good too… everything in between, not so much

Correct. It is a judgment call. They could have called it. But there was also justification for not calling it. Too often people think helmet to helmet means automatic targeting.

January 1Jan 1 Popular Post Not getting Helm a catch until the late 4th quarter is fucking so stupid. This offense clicks when Helm is shredding defenses for 75-85 yards. Also, are our receivers incapable of running simple 6 yard curls or slants? Why the fuck is every pass a fucking bomb down field or a screen?? This offense, oline, Ewers, and Sark should be absolutely fucking disgusted by this performance. No reason this team shouldn’t have won this game by 20+ points.
January 1Jan 1 8 minutes ago, Nivek said: on the interception our guy was hit with a launched shoulder to helmet IIRC. No call then too. That's what I was talking about. Bond's g face got hit directly by the safeties' shoulder and facemask. They reviewed it and no call. Those hits were too similar, with Bond being in an even more defenseless position, to call it on Taafe after letting the other one go earlier.

These guys are going to put up points and we can’t waste any drives getting behind the sticks. If we can control the LOS and keep our D off the field. A good mixture is still the best bet. Sark called the right plays at the right time today. Will need to do it even harder next week. Quinn needs to get his long ball shit together. Coulda had two add'l long TD passes if he hadn't underthrown/thrown behind two receivers
January 1Jan 1 When I saw Quinn load up to throw it deep on 4th and 13 I about wanted to vomit. Glad he put it on the money. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Tell the offense that Bert is not traveling to Dallas. TDs have to be scored and must go for 2 each time. Actually, no kickers will travel. Kickoffs will be thrown by Arch.
