June 30Jun 30 Saint Arnold - Spring Bock, 6.9% Alc. 👍 Managed to find a six-pack still hanging around at Total Wine. Out of an unusual act of generosity for a sith lord, I left the three remaining singles for other poor, hapless souls jonesing for this seasonal brew that might better be called Saint Arnold's Crack.

July 1Jul 1 Yep. 40 degrees is better than 30 on those bad boys. And no, you did NOT make a bad selection.
July 1Jul 1 Belgian beer is best beer. It is known. In addition to letting them warm up a little, pour off about 3/4 of the bottle, then take the bottle between your two hands and roll it back and forth to stir up the sediment, and then pour the rest into your glass. And those ales should go into something like this:

July 4Jul 4 Stream of recent breweries/beers I visited in the LA area a couple of weeks ago. Few pics, b/c I did not take pics of all the beers I drank Santa Monica Brew Works - Inclined West Coast IPA - Pretty good WC - they are a gratuity free establishment, so $9.50 for a 20oz pint was not so bad. Malibu Brewing Company - First Point IPA, Daughter had Happy Days Honey Blonde. Both were very good. And a nice reward after a 2+ hour hike in the Santa Monica Mountans. Stone IPA - 19.2 oz can at Dodger Stadium - I only mention it because it was $19. Bargain . No pics of the Stone, but I had a good seat... Culture Brewing - Manhattan Beach Location - Mosaic IPA - it was fantastic. Golden Road Brewing - Anaheim location - Ride On West Coast IPA - it was "ok" for a California IPA. I may be giving it a higher grade than it deserved because it was a beer I enjoyed after a 13 hour day at DisneyLand. A Celis might have tasted good after that. Daughter had the blonde ale. Monkish Brewing - stopped here after hiking in Rancho Palos Verdes and before heading to LAX. Very high quality. I had the Looks IPA, IIRC. DD had a Hazy.
July 5Jul 5 I'll be honest with you, I'm a Pliny fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better. I celebrate Pliny’s entire catalogue.
July 5Jul 5 Riverfront Rendezvous in Stevens Point, WI. Bluegrass with Armchair Boogie, one of many great free bands to go with local beer over three days of festival. Happy Fourth to all.

July 5Jul 5 Piraat and The Sandlot yesterday for the 4th. oh and i got them tulip glasses, thanks for the shout. 🤘🏼
July 10Jul 10 After a very unscientific study on the impact of beer glass shapes on the taste of beer, I have concluded there is an impact, and this shape is the one that makes a beer taste the best. This is science and in no way a figment of my imagination.

July 11Jul 11 Different styles of beer go in different glasses. For American lager/ Mexican cervezas I want them as cold as possible to mask the lack of actual flavor. Gimme the schooner, frozen... Edited July 11Jul 11 by Iceman
July 11Jul 11 Back in San Francisco and it worked out that we ended up at my favorite bar, Toronado, right when it opened and had the whole place to ourselves for a DDH Pliny the Elder plus other tasty drinks.
July 12Jul 12 Say No More dark lager at the Blind Tiger in Greenwich Village. Cheers to @QuesoEspecial
July 13Jul 13 Gold Jacket Green Jacket hazy ipa by Martin House Brewing out of Fort Worth. 10% abv The name and can art sold me on it. It’s good not great, but I would probably buy again
July 13Jul 13 At SFO having a Pliny waiting to board when they delayed boarding by an hour just 15 minutes prior. Oh well…guess I’ll have a Blind Pig too while I wait. FYI if you are flying out of Terminal 1 (American): the Drake’s Flyway has those plus Drake’s beers (plus sports on TV)
July 13Jul 13 do they sell these spec’s it heb? if so i’ll be on the lookout.Yes and if you see the 4 or 6 variety pack with the glass just get that to start with. All top tier.
