October 23Oct 23 Big Owl and Turkey Forrest Brewing closing in Houston. No, I don’t know who they were either.
October 24Oct 24 Benediktiner Festbier. 5.8% abv. Specs had all their remaining Oktoberfest inventory on a rack so I grabbed this. I usually prefer the darker Oktoberfests, but this is pretty good
October 26Oct 26 Sherman Bock, 903. 7.1% Great beer with higher gravity to really hit help you cope with mediocre Texas football only to have them sneak out a win when your a 6 pack deep
October 27Oct 27 I’ll be in Little Rock for a conference this week, any brewery recs from the group? Google seems to provide a great local brewery scene. I’m excited to try some new stuff.
October 27Oct 27 A couple of hoppy bitches from New Belgium multipack. Never thought I'd be sayin that... or giving a flying fuck about the Garden State. Grandkids change things. Can't wait to get back!!!

November 1Nov 1 Phoenix hotel special. Four Peaks Desert Daydream “hazy ipa”. A wheat beer that is doing its best ipa impression? I can’t really tell. I wasn’t sure I liked it but then after the second one I knew for sure I did. Interesting brew. Edited November 1Nov 1 by HiggyBaby

November 1Nov 1 Some thoughts from the Utah hotel bar. Every single tap was a “craft”, save the Wasatch which is under the Monster umbrella. And curiously, all at 5% or less. It’s an Utah thing. So of course I did the right thing and bought a tasty hazy in a can which has no such limits.

I enjoy learning about the oddities of various state alcohol laws, but yes it really threw me off when I visited a brewery in Park City and everything was right at 5% abv, whether an IPA or stout. The Zion Curtain at bars was a real head trip also.
November 2Nov 2 Running on empty today. 5:30am departure for area band. Sat through rain delays and got home around 2am. Beer is still on the menu though

November 5Nov 5 If it's clear and yella, you've got juice there fella. If it's tangy and brown, you're in cider town.

I always forget about them. 13 hours ago, mdleast said: The new banquet courtesy of my friendly neighborhood brewery, Vector Brewing in Dallas: Vector is great. Been there once and really enjoyed the beers, food, and vibes.
November 6Nov 6 Does it have to be available nationwide to be a macro lager? If so, Coors Banquet. If not, Grain Belt Premium.
November 7Nov 7 Yuengling is my favorite macro, especially when it is properly priced as a cheapo on the east coast.
