Which reel mower are you running?  I started with a California Trimmer but moved up to a Revolution 26.  I have a larger yard and it's not quite level enough to go shorter than about 3/4".

I have a 20 year old John Deere 180B greens mower with a rotary brush attachment that I got 2 years ago.  When it's adjusted correctly and freshly backlapped the quality of cut is awesome.  I've sand leveled twice, and the lawn is level enough that I can scalp at 1/4" before hitting dirt.  Last year I started the season maintaining at 3/8" and slowly raised the height of cut (whenever it showed signs of scalping) to 3/4" by the end of the year.

damn, I was going to say I'm the expert at wasting time at work on surly, but after seeing these pics, I'm going to say the best at having a dirt lot with a few weeds as a yard, unless it rains and turns into a hog waller.

Oh, and I nominate @Uncle Boobs for dining at the Y.

I'd be willing to bet that I have the nicest looking lawn of anyone on this website.

Beech, do you wanna get cut!!!!

It’s not difficult to maintain a nice lawn when you have no shade and only about 200 square feet of grass to worry about.

The operating system was assembly language, which is what I did. The rest of the flight computer code was HAL/S. There was other hardware that had their own language, but that stuff rarely changed after it was initially designed. I didn't join the project until '84, so all the big challenges of coming up with the original design was already done.
