Flood better be a dead man walking at this point. The OL is just completely indefensibly terrible yet again under him. I get it is awkward to bitch about our OL because as a whole we've been much improved compared to the dark days under Strong and Herman but this year's OL might be as bad as any of those units were. The IOL has been putrid and near the bottom of our conference ranks every season under him. Really the only bright spot has been natural talents like Banks who were just already great from the day they arrived.

So he's been on staffs with Choate, Saban, and Schiano and has Houston/Texas ties. Not going to act like this is some no-doubter but seems like it can work just fine to me.

My sweet Lord. Reading the thread since the Muschamp hiring is borderline exhausting. Some of the hawtest takes on this recruiting board, ever, on here between pages 45 and 48. I was quoting posts at

  • This is a Nansen hire. He was behind the surge last year to bring him on as an analyst. The plan to hire him has been in place for a while, and if Blake would have stayed and Terry still left they wou

Co-sign

Yeah, the OL is bad enough that I don't think you give him another year to rebuild it and risk Arch (or whoever we can get in the portal) and our RBs getting blown up in the back field whenever they are actually able to get the play off before a pre-snap infraction.

Even last year’s highly talented, highly experienced, Joe Moore finalist squad wasn’t all that good at moving people.

He’s gotta go this offseason for this offense to unlock its potential

It’s a late Mack Brown line.

You cocksuckers have done nothing and nobody will ever give you money again. Good luck.

Definitely what it feels like watching these games. Extremely frustrating. I've been trying very hard to be objective and always keep in mind just how bad things were for awhile under the past two regimes but I mean holy fuck we shouldn't be happy with 'bad' just because it isn't as bad as before.

But it is as bad as before. The OL Sark inherited was much, much better than the one he’s putting on the field in year five.

Idk who specifically you are referring to but either way I think this is false

Sam Pittman may have called it a career and be done, but I think you have to at least give him a call and see if he would be interested. The guy was a great position coach.

Banks can stay for TEs but we need a new special teams coordinator. We're fine in kick/punt coverage and even returns but the amount of "turnovers" given away by our special teams every year is way more than we're getting.

Flood probably needs to go. The OTs have been fine although Banks was already good as a true freshman. The iOL has been a consistent issue and it's a major reason for the red zone woes. Yesterday was the worst yet.

Not that OC/QB were the biggest problem yesterday, but I still think a dedicated OC/QB coach is in order too.

Side note - does LaAllen Clark suck? Our pass rushers that were so damn good last year have done jackshit this year.

We need a play calling OC, an OL coach, a QB coach, and a ST coordinator. This offense completely blows. Sark has messed up. He'll get a full cycle to get it fixed but I'd imagine there are some donors wondering where the money went.

I think we need to let Akina go and get someone back there who will push for more press. Continually playing off even in short down and distance is retarded.

Except when you get pushed aside trying to affect the route and give up the game sealing TD as a result

Fucking Flood not fired yet.  FML... maybe Monday?  FUCK

His wiki was updated on September 11th to reflect his position on the Texas staff. The article is Ian Boyd clickbait.

So the OL has gotten worse since adding this guy! Flood dodges a bullet

So much for hope then again wasn't Greg Robinson hired as an analyst before Manny was fired. Hopefully we see a quick improvement like we saw then not that Flood is fired but maybe the new guy is given more of a chance to make a difference after what we saw in Florida.

While the OL has been our biggest disappointment this year, part of that is expectations imo.  you have new guys in four of the five spots, with three of the four being young.  I have had to adjust my expectations for that and Arch, but if COVID showed me anything teams (in all sports) are better as they play together longer.

This line could play for 2 years straight and it won’t make Stoh or Hutson better players.

Stroh has been supplanted by Brooks, I believe.

Hutson has been around for a while, obviously not talking about him or Campbell.  As mentioned, Brooks has supplanted Stroh.  Should have happened sooner, but Brooks dumb mistake in the spring landed him in the dog house.

Mack got the same citation much closer to the season and was playing sooner

The issue with Brooks wasn't just the DWI, but the statements he made to police that put the program in a bad light.  He said he was coming from a club that made exceptions for UT players under 21 and that he was going to escort two recruits to a strip club.

Let's reiterate to everyone what you do in this type of situation:

I Dont Wanna Talk To The Police Nope GIF - I Dont Wanna Talk ...

Hopefully, Brooks' situations made way for similar expectation setting and education among Texas athletes. Brooks still would have gotten arrested without talking given what the police report showed, but it would have looked way better for plenty of people/orgs involved.

Here's our O-Line recruiting under Flood with rankings since 2022

2022:

Kelvin Banks (5*) fell into our laps when Cristobal left for Miami. Absolute stud. Top 10 pick

Cam Williams (3*) see above, expect for the stud part. He was a penalty machine, yet still drafted in the 6th rd to Philly after Gerry/Bobby hyping 1st-2nd rd bs

DJ Campbell (5*) - Seinor - above average

Neto Umeozulu (4* top 200) - RSJR - can't get out of his own way, or Flood is a moron who can't develop

Malik Agbo  (4*) was a jumbo TE who saw the field and did nothing

Cole Hutson (3*) senior should be a 2* he's horrible

Connor Robertson (3*) RS-JR - We're about to find out. He has to be better than that blowup pussy Hutson.

2023:

Jaydon Chatman (4*) - RS-SO - still has time and apparently has shown promise

Payton Kirkland  (4*) now at his fourth school, UAB

Trevor Goosby (3*) - RS-SO worth every penny. Will be a high draft pick if he comes back for another season

Connor Stroh - (3*) RS-SO - easily the worst eval ever.

Andre Cojoe - (3*) - actually showed real promise before injury

2024:

Brandon Baker - (5*) - starter. Showing he's getting it, but young

Daniel Cruz - (3*) - no fucking clue. Gerry sucks him off, so unless Robertson fails miserably and Hutson loses both legs, don't expect to see him for another 2 years

Nate Kibble - (3*) - I fully believe he'll be a star. He's from Atascocita, an o-line factory

2025:

Nick Brooks (4*) - getting PT now, so we'll see how fast he can pick up the offense, but he can move people. The inverse of Stroh

Jordan Coleman - (3*) - No idea. I expect JAG

Devin Coleman - (3*) - see above

Jackson Christian - (3*) - who knows?

Ten 3* recruits still on the team

Three 4* recruits still on the team

Two 5* still on the team

That's some lazy fucking recruiting if I've ever seen it. TEN 3*???????????

We should have TEN 4* AT THE VERY LEAST!

Flood is a liability, a shitty recruiter, and a shitty teacher. It's beyond time for Sark to give his buddy the pink slip and actually go get someone who can recruit and develop. Easier said than done, but FFS we're Texas. We should never be in this position.

This group is grim to look at. I almost can't stomach it or process it.

Seriously? You are simultaneously saying guys are worth every penny, top 10 pick, show real promise, he's getting it just young, too bad he got injured because he was showing something, starting as a true freshman, expect him to be a star, admittedly know nothing about a few guys... And then you end with "This group is grim to look at. I almost can't stomach or process it." Maybe back away from the keyboard for a while.

Yeah, I can't really argue with that.

Maybe stop being a fucking pussy and deal with posts on a messaboard without wetting yourself? Maybe try that? You seem soft.

What are the buyouts for assistants like Flood and Milwee?

And if it's the full $1.5mm for Flood, do you can him now or spend that $1.5mm on portal OL this offseason?

Flood and whatever the heck Millwee does - need real coaches.

I do think changes are in order @Mother mopar and I think Sark sees this - tough thing on good friends. Needs to be done though and this Arch crap, end it. That or his job ends.

As with most coaches, but this has changed some - mid season etc. I don't think Sark is in danger but he does have to fix his house. Next year he's in trouble if not fixed and Milwee and Flood both.

4 hours ago, BurntOrange&White said:

Imagine thinking changing offensive coaches will fix it

This is correct. If Sarkisian needs to be told/forced to do anything to improve the offensive performance just fire him.
