December 10Dec 10 Frank Wilson would be an incredible hire. There are potentially some questions about just how great he is at actually developing RBs but who gives a fuck? Go hire the best personal trainer for the position you can find and give them a non recruiting role on the coaching staff if you feel the need. What Wilson brings in terms of player morale / vibes, recruiting and even to an extent scheme is far beyond what you can get from all but maybe 3-4 other RB coaches out there. I'm not saying the Florida guy would be a bad hire but everything possible should be done to land Wilson first. One thing to keep in mind is that we will have that OC tag available if we fire Flood. Mostly bringing it up because people were asking why the hell would someone like Searels who is already at a great place like Georgia come here. He is making a little under 800K. We could easily justify doubling that if he is wearing the OC tag like Flood currently does. Not even saying that is who we would target in replacement or that we should but just keep in mind our poaching a potential replacement for Flood is made way easier by the fact we have the OC title and the associated huge pay bump to throw at guys even if they can't run an offense.Â

I am not talking about us attempting to match the bonuses they paid guys to stay throughout November or anything like that. edit: Just read my original comment again and get why you took it that way. To be clear~ the total amount these players would have made ultimately going to Texas or elsewhere was higher in some cases than what they are getting from LSU both in the short term as bonuses to stay committed during the replacement search and what they would make once actually at LSU. It wasn't just NIL keeping some of them on board. Edited December 10Dec 10 by HateYouAndMyself

Only 3 SEC teams in the top quartile of either speaks well of SEC defenses, I think. Both UTSA & Texas State punching above their weight.Â

Even though these are non-QB runs, it seems like a lot of the top performers do a lot of QB running. Looking at rumored RB coach candidate schools - GT was pretty elite and Mckenzie is also their Run Game Coordinator (if that actually means anything). UF and LSU above average on YAC, not good on scheme/blocking. Nebraska plenty of running room but RBs not doing much extra. And this definitely won't quiet the Samples fanboys. I kinda like this Mckenzie guy. Sounds like more focus is on Juluke and Wilson but he's a younger guy with a nice track record of production.

December 10Dec 10 He was the HC at UTSA before Taylor, and a grade A prick by all accounts. He is, or at least was, a tremendous recruiter though. Can't say much about his actual coaching but what I do know is he's been accused of sexual harassment and not worth the headache. Â

I’d take him right now over Drayton, the Rutgers person, or the bagman at LSU.Â
