So he's been on staffs with Choate, Saban, and Schiano and has Houston/Texas ties. Not going to act like this is some no-doubter but seems like it can work just fine to me.

My sweet Lord. Reading the thread since the Muschamp hiring is borderline exhausting. Some of the hawtest takes on this recruiting board, ever, on here between pages 45 and 48. I was quoting posts at

  • This is a Nansen hire. He was behind the surge last year to bring him on as an analyst. The plan to hire him has been in place for a while, and if Blake would have stayed and Terry still left they wou

Let’s fucking go! We are back to yelling and punching whiteboards!!!

But seriously, I like this

Yes.  Kwiatkowski is a really good DC - Muschamp is one of the best in college football.

This seems to me that Muschamp told Sark he was ready and Sark jumped on it.   He wanted Muschamp the first time around too.  PK won’t be short of suitors.

Quite the surprise, or it isn’t. This board discussed a few months ago the rumors that PK was fed up with the Sark behavior issues. I don’t know if they were true, but this certainly raises questions.

Is he? Serious question. Seems like the last time he was a DC calling plays was 2015.

Salute to PK. The first two years were a bit of a rollercoaster, but the 2024 Texas defense is one of the best in program history.

He was the de-facto DC in 2022 and 2023 at Georgia.

What the hell? PK has been awesome, I don't get it

Why did he take a step back to analyst?

The results were mostly good, but I never thought the style PK wanted to play defensively was a match for this league or what we did offensively.

Think about how many times Sark said they want to play tighter coverage in the secondary. It was a like a 4 year running thing.

Jeff Howe saying this is as mutual a firing as can be between Sark and Kwiatkowski.  Sark essentially 'letting' Pete K leave to go back to the west coast.

Is Sark just desperate to get some insight into how Kirby owns him so bad?

On Texas talking about this just now that Muschamp is much more a stylistic fit for what Sark wants on that side of the ball.

His son was on the team at Vandy and I think he wanted a break from the day to day grind.

He could’ve saved pk as the final lawn chair to throw overboard.

this is befuddling

OTF, as well

So, Texas is going all in next year to try and win it all, and they think a brand new defensive scheme will be a fine component of that plan? Ok.

This.  PK’s style of D was not a good fit for the league or to pair with Sark’s O.  This seems like a better overall fit.

If PK wanted to leave then that’s fine, but if we just fired him, then damn. His unit has been better than Sarks’ the last couple of years.

See Ohio State 2025.

Unlikely he left for a promotion but Sark hired Gideon because Muschamp told him to

The last time Muschamp came here, his first year defense was pretty incredible.

He's a DC right now. Why would he take a demotion to come back?

Granted GT's defense wasn't great this year. Defensive FPI rank was 83rd.

Eric Nahlin was saying he didn't want to leave the first time but it was just a career move at the time

Goon on Sark. PK had 1 year left around the $2 million mark. Let him go back home and reward him for getting the defense to where its at.

Yeah if the mutual aspect is true then bringing Muschamp back is a good move. I know we're all fans and lose sight of it, but players and coaches are real people. If PK wanted to move back west then sometimes that's all that matters.

Howe mentioned he was interested in year 1 under Sark. I remember most of that staff getting hired before PK and they all seemed to be Muschamp type guys

Muschamp is an upgrade, correct?

PK was here and proven. I don’t see kicking PK to the curb as … necessary?

Dude. Sark is not messing around on defense.

Don’t want anyone who doesn’t want to be here.
Let’s go Will…

Get some dudes in the portal and the next recruiting cycle.

Yeah, I mean, he's from Leander and has lived in the Austin area for the majority of his life. Would be great to get him back.

Also would be nice to see the guys in the secondary play as if they understood what zone defense was.

Wish PK the best and he should have no trouble getting a great job on the WC. Hope this was a mutual decision for his sake. Nothing but respect for the work he did with our defense. Let’s hope the Boom is not off the rose with Muschamp.

Now we just need saban as an analyst and we are cooking with gas
