Friday at 07:27 PM5 days There was some initial "This was a mutual decision" from the 9.95s yesterday. This is looking less and less like a mutual decision.

The same issues that lead to Vandy making us look like keystone cops on defense in the 4th quarter got us beat by Florida and Georgia.

Friday at 07:49 PM5 days Popular Post PK was good. Will Muschamp is elite. We are better today than we were two days ago. If you think otherwise, that’s fine, I guess, but that objectively makes you a highly ignorant football fan. You should be ignored.
Friday at 07:50 PM5 days Popular Post Wadlington summed it up well on IT Head coaches do other stuff than just the 3+ hours on game day. Sark also calls an offense, runs at a pace, and has a roster construction that's decidedly pro defense. The idea that's he's a circa 2000 Air Raid bro who only cares about putting up points is utterly vapid. He'd rather win a game 34-13 than 56-35 and that's obvious to anyone who cares to notice. He wants a DC who can be the head coach of the defense to actually free him not only game day but in the actual operation of the program. Not having to sweat whether he made the perfect complementary and assertive quasi-DC DB coaching hires to help his titular DC who can't solve the back end by himself was an obvious burden.

Sark should approve hires, but the 2 million dollar DC should have a long list of guys that he can coordinate the coverages with.
Friday at 08:05 PM5 days Instead of reading a 1 sentence summary, it might make more sense hearing exactly what he said.

Shut down ou and aggy We know it's total and complete bullshit since Anwar wrote it. We all know that's not what happened considering there is a myriad of evidence to prove it's not true. Sark knows nothing about running a D. How can he hold PK's hand when we doesn't even understand the defensive language? And yes, I'm sure Sark is and will continue to give PK his flowers, as he should. He took us from the morgue to respectable on defense. Unless Sark or PK ever tell the story, we won't know what happened. And the "firing" may be language off-set so he can collect a bonus, and he really did tell Sark way ahead of time and was asked to stick around until he can find a new DC. Anwar is a dumb fuck.

I have a suspicion that this isn’t really about the 2025 season performance, it’s at least partially about the 2025 offseason when Sarkisian disappeared. It sounds like he trusted Kwiatkowski to handle some things, maybe hiring, maybe recruiting, and got let down.
Friday at 08:12 PM5 days There’s no way a coach would choose to be publically fired instead of just resigning.

Lol k. I can honestly say I have never even heard Sark talk about the D in detail. I've never seen him even walk over there. If he thinks pulling a hammy in his head that that now things will finally work, I'm at a loss.
Friday at 08:13 PM5 days The defensive secondary under Sark/PK has been outright bad in 4 out of the 5 years he's been here. We as fans blame the position coaches like Terry Joseph and Duane Akina, but I think it's fair for Sark to place the blame on the defensive coordinator for a recurring theme. At some point it should have been up to PK to figure things out, and he hasn't given us confidence in that aspect.

This would make sense, but then you have to wonder why Sark thought he could handle that? He's known the man for 4 years by that time, and he doesn't think to maybe dot his I's and cross his T's?

He’s really the head coach of the defense, organizes it all, and he’s got a great staff with him.”

It wouldn’t be an outrageous expectation coming off the 2024 defensive performance, having junior coaches become desirable enough to get promotions, etc. Remember that a lot of football organization takes its cues from the military in a “you’re always training your replacement” culture and coordinators should be working to get their position coaches ready to be a coordinator, the head coach should be training the coordinators to be a head coach, etc.

Friday at 08:29 PM5 days I mean, I get that Muschamp is a marginal upgrade over an already pretty good DC when it comes to scheme and overall fit with what Sark wants to do and all that, besides being chums with him...whatever. But I'm supposed to sit here and believe that the offense, in large part, was objectively putrid in year 5 because Sark had to divert some of his time and focus on Defense. And now that 100% of his attention will be on offense, it will consistently deliver. Been following this shit for far too long to buy that load... Granted, he may still make changes on the offensive side of the ball, we will see, but this statement is some weak sauce post-hoc rationalization.

I do wonder if the offense is starved a little on the NIL front because Sarkisian doesn’t trust Kwiatkowski to add much value in recruiting and they have to overpay to attract and retain players on that side of the field. Bobby and Gerry appear pretty adamant it’s entirely about the style of defense, fwiw.

Friday at 09:11 PM5 days I’m sure I know the answer, but is there at least one reporter out there who has the balls to straight up ask “are you going to hire an OC?” Pussies.

Friday at 09:21 PM5 days no way Sark gets an OC or playcaller - that ain't happening. Not getting a new O line coach when this is probably his last chance at a staff reboot would be monumentally stupid.

Friday at 09:35 PM5 days I'm gonna defend PK a little here. If the expectation when they got here was that Sark was going to be involved in the defense then PK was going along with the expectation set from day one. I might be misremembering but I thought Sark said he wants to be involved in all the aspects of the team. Now If Sark had to intervene after giving PK full autonomy after say that year one debacle, ok I can see the messaging now. I don't shit about fuck though on this front.
Friday at 09:56 PM5 days This isn’t really too hard. If you have the option to pick between Pete Kwiatkowski or Will Muschamp to run your defense (back to front) who do you take between the two?

The main gripe I have about him is that he let his secondary coaches call the coverages behind him. That is why we got all of those discombobulated coverages at odd times. Muschamp ties the coverage to the defensive call, which is how it should be.
