Monday at 03:57 PM2 days IT We’ve already seen two surprising and, again, decisive moves from Sark. Currently there’s a vacant safeties coach position that Will Muschamp will fill. Probably Travaris T-Rob Robinson. As you know, Chris Jackson does not have a contract for 2026. IT does not expect Jackson to return. If I’m reading this right, Sark is trying to get a bit rougher around the edges, similar to replacing Chad Scott with Jabbar Juluke. One potential replacement we’ve heard is a bit off the radar these days but makes sense from a couple of different angles. We’ve also caught wind of one potential analyst, at least we think it’s for analyst. Like many of these guys—Paul Chryst for example—they’re good enough to be position coaches. Sark was an analyst himself at one point.

The closest I can remember is someone saying that he's sober in an interview and Sark didn't correct them. He's talked a lot about being open and honest about his past, which obviously includes severe drinking problems, but that's not the same as self-identifying as an alcoholic. It probably doesn't mean much either way. A person is who he is, regardless of what he calls himself. I just want to have my story straight. 26 minutes ago, Hookem2147 said: IT We’ve already seen two surprising and, again, decisive moves from Sark. I just know the man is human and has been through some real stress - the kind that can temporarily break people. I think many of us have seen some of the things I speculated on break strong as granite friends for a bit. Whatever happened (no idea - didn't notice or know), he's back and fixing some things on his staff. If we could target an OL coach - any ideas from some that know more than me (most of you - I have a buddy that spent years with the 49ers as a OL and knows his stuff is my all) about a target? I want a new safeties coach too. Muschamp is human and will have plenty - don't want him tied up coaching a position. Oversee it all, yes.

Well he didnt have his personal shit together and as a result we "almost" made the playoff this year. Based on his body of work I'm good with one of those, but if he has two years in a row of off the field bs that appears to negatively affect the team then I'm pretty sure he wont get a third strike. Could be wrong. Also, he would have to try pretty hard to create a mess that matches this last one. I actually feel bad for him in some ways, and I bet there's a good chance it was a needed wake up call for him. It looks to me like he's getting us back on track.
Monday at 07:01 PM2 days am I the only one that saw wide open receivers all over the place this year. we either didn't see him or we dropped the ball. sark to me just gave up on run to quick. even with sub par oline like everyone thinks, we would run the ball then quit.

There were at least 2 walk in touchdowns missed with a drop or overthrow. There were another 4 at least drops in crucial down and distance moments with 10-20 yards of open field. I dont put that on Sark. Not saying completing half those plays makes us 10-2 or 11-1, but IMO Sark's offensive play calling is about 4th or 5th down the line....OL personnel, Mosely not seeing the field due to whatever, lack of quality RB depth, drops and flags are way up the list when writing the story of Texas this year IMO Edited Monday at 07:52 PM2 days by jdhorn92

Or shit, maybe he had COVID. All just ideas - no facts. But those are things that can beat a person down. I really like Sark and how he represents Texas. I'm cheering for him and respect the man. Now there has to be a badass OL coach we can money whip out there? He was helping Tebow on a church missionary in the Phillipines. PK had expressed interest in being a HC so Sark wanting to test him out, tasked him with OL recruiting and backfilling the RB and DB coaching positions. As you can see, PK failed miserably but Sark took the blame. PK also begged Sark to cancel the spring game because his defense wasn't ready. So, now we know why PK was let go.

Arch not missing wide open guys and just reading defenses better will dramatically make this team better. The oline will be better just from experience alone next year whether we have new oline coach or not, Pending players all return of course. Experience alone next year will make us really good and we’re close even with our deficiencies.

We beat them, and life is good. Personally, I'm too young (way too young) for the Arky rival, so to me that's just another game. Ou:/aggy I care about dunking them in a toilet. But yeah, being in conference they're absolutely important. I just look down at them, I guess because the conference is new, we get different teams, and we don't have to wait until October for us to play someone who isn't a glorified HS team. Now we get Georgia, Bama (2026), Tenn (2026), Ole Miss (2026). What I meant by just beating your rivals was it's great, but that shouldn't be our endgame. Bragging rights for sure, but they're not even our peers at the moment. They're so bad. We had such a shitty year and we still took them behind a dumpster and did things no man should ever admit to.

Is he only able to fire coaches from non-revenue sports, or how does that work (assuming you know, because obviously I don't)?

I did them to take away inner pain I've been dealing with, and I get you don't understand that. I've lost too many people, and my best friend took his life one year ago, so in order for me to function daily and at work I would take "drugs" (MDMA, xanax, etc) to get me in happy thoughts. So just to clear that up. I also lost my dad, my two grandmothers to pancreatic cancer, a grandfather from brain cancer, and now I'm dealing with my mom having cancer. I don't recommend anyone take anything, but that's the only way I was/am able to survive each day. It's not something I'm proud of, even if I'm all about self-deprecating humor.
