Moore is also a good blocker and besides being a little faster is a little quicker and has better acceleration. Still, I see round 4 for him.
July 27Jul 27 Popular Post My biggest concerns this year are that: Our WRs legs don't fall off after catching 80 yard bomb after 80 yard bomb Arch's doesn't get enough passes due to him going 7/7, 7TDs, 560 yards and getting pulled at halftime each game Simmons doesn't pull his hamstring celebrating his 50th sack somewhere around game 4 or 5 If we can avoid that, I think we're good.

Matthew golden was limited by his QB is the point. Every game WRs running open deep and balls failing to connect. Edited July 27Jul 27 by BurntOrange&White

July 28Jul 28 People underestimated pretty much everything sans kickoff returns about Golden last year. And to the Whittington work ethic and leadership, OTF has said that Moore is the first one at practice and the last to leave. All I'm saying is, let's see. Jackson seems pretty good at WR development.
July 28Jul 28 I can’t believe we have to endure another month of this stupid bullshit before beating ohio state’s dicks in the dirt.

Yet we were mostly fine during the season, even with Bond giving nearly nothing after the OU game and Cook flaking out. We aren't nearly in as unproven a position this season. We should be good to go Edited July 28Jul 28 by Hermanator

July 28Jul 28 Klatt did his top 10 players in CFB. Hill at 7 Arch at 4. Summary below the fold Spoiler Klatt on Top 10 players Anthony Hill #7 * All American, does it all * can have one of those pop type years, Butkus guy * 16.5 TFL w/ 8 Sacks on top of tackles. "can fill up stat sheet" * will be focal point of a very good defense * "he is outstanding, i love him as a player, easily a top 10 player" Arch Manning #4 * i know he hasn't been a full time starter...do think people are going to get tired of the hype, but he deserves a spot on this last based on how well he played when he got the chances to play * focus on 2 starts vs spot duty/specialty role * in those two starts, he "eminded me a lot of Trevor Lawrence when he was at Clemson. Athletic guy who didn't beat you with his athleticism but could. He beat you with his arm" * "is he really that good? my answer is yes if you watch the film" * "Texas could be a more dangerous offense because of Arch Manning" - attacks the grass on the field in a different way. His ability to take it the distance (as a runner) is there. You have to take that into account. Ewers was a really good player but "Manning makes throws that scare defensive coordinators vs "yeah he can make the throw" * he expands the defense and the seams in the defense. * puts the defense under more stress. thinks he is one of the best QBs in the country * "when you look at the way he played in those two starts he jumps off the table" * "major threat in a lot of different ways" * Texas will be looking more downfield than in the past

Joel needs to go back to Houston and find his missing brains Kelson scattered all over the field. And, yippee, Texas gets to face the top 2 in Game 1. I just hope their new QB kinda sucks.

Arch would not be the 1st year 1 starter to excel. The odds may not be with Klatt on this one, but it is hardly a bat shit crazy prediction. One can look at Arch's start and say they were vs poor competition and write them off or look at what Arch showed. First thing he showed was a large improvement from game 1 to game 2. He also completed what was arguably the best pass of the season. He hit Moore, I believe, down the sideline while getting drilled when MSU brought an extra man. Not many look deep knowing a free rusher is coming and even less throw dime 50 yards downfield knowing they are going to get a shoulder pad to the ribs. The fact he got it out on time without any hesitation was probably the most impressive part of the throw. He showed command of the system, while scrambling and seemingly blindly hit the safety value in the left flat just before getting hit. I have not even mentioned the scrambling ability. Tape shows that Arch can be a special player, if he can be consistent. We shall see how it plays out, but I would not bet the mortgage against Arch being the top QB. The NFL seems to agree with Klatt.

He was a great QB, but still never lived up to the expectations of the highest rated QB ever coming out of HS. Chris Simms to. I guess you could say Vince did, but it took a long time. Maybe I should be more upset with all these sports media guys creating unrealistic expectations. I'm also a little worried about 4 new starters giving him time to throw down the field. And there's always another Perriloux just around the corner.

There is always a chance he is Trevor Lawrence, Manziel, or Mayfield (painful to put those 2 in). CFB is an old game, we can both find people of either side of this equation. Maybe he is James Street. He comes in and never loses a game. You should not be upset with anyone, it is just typical preseason BS lists.
