January 27Jan 27 Arch is probably going to make some absurd plays and head scratching mistakes in pursuit of a few more. I'm excited to see what the offense looks like with a credible vertical threat. But really next season's result is directly correlated to how well we shore up the interior lines in the wake of major talent/experience departures on both sides of the ball. The next seven months are going to be lots of circular discussion that ultimately lands there.
January 27Jan 27 By Xander_ Jan 23, 2025 The Wall Street Journal recently released a study identifying the U.S.’ most valuable college football programs. The Texas Longhorns were ranked No. 2 nationally, behind only No. 1 Ohio State, which was crowed national champions Monday night after beating Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff finals. Both programs nearly top $2 billion in enterprise value, which, according to researchers, is found by subtracting adjusted cash flow from a program’s annual adjusted revenue (in Texas’ case, an enterprise value of $1.87 billion.) https://www.burntorangenation.com/2025/1/23/24350328/longhorns-daily-news-wsj-study-ranks-texas-second-most-valuable-college-football-program-sec-cfp
January 28Jan 28 The program has been missing a locker room dog at QB since Sam left. Sorrell has had to fill that role like Ivory Christian from Friday Night Lights. Take over Arch.

Having a consistent running game plus a dual threat QB should do wonders for us in the RedZone. We shall see.

I am not sure he turns it over more than Ewers (17 last year), but he will definitely be more exciting. Bobby was saying Texas will need much better QB play to get back to the playoffs next year. I do think Arch has the skills to open up the offense more. Backside DEs cannot crash on the run with Arch's running ability. Arch will have safeties playing more flat-footed with his ability to throw deep and his desire to chuck it down the field. There will be some good and bad, as is the case with every 1st year starter. Most fans understand that. He needs to learn to slide and reign his desire to make the big play. Edited January 28Jan 28 by Codaxx

I think he’ll do well
January 28Jan 28 It's time, gentlemen. Arch fits what Sark wants to do, and he's a legit generational talent. We will have no drop-off and I predict we win it all. Ohio State loses their entire defense sans Downs, and they are breaking in a new (albeit) a good QB. They lose also a ton on their offensive line. As well as both of their RB's We have the upper hand on both offense and defense. We will win and people will bitch because they lose a ton. Oh well. It's not our fault they came back last season and now leave. Edited January 28Jan 28 by Funk Doctor Spock

February 1Feb 1 All Four 5-Star players on defense... With early signing day in the rearview mirror and national signing day just a week away, the 2025 recruiting class is all but officially wrapped up. This means for the Texas Longhorns they have secured the nation's No. 1 recruiting class. This was further confirmed by On3.com Thursday when they unveiled their final player rankings for the 2025 class. The final rankings saw Texas bring in two of the top 15 and four inside the top 32 players in the nation according to On3. The 25-player class is headlined by five-star edge rusher Lance Jackson, who is the nation's fifth-best player. The Texarkana, Texas, native ranks only behind Bryce Underwood (Michigan), Keelon Russell (Alabama), Elijah Griffin (Georgia), and Will Black (Notre Dame). Meanwhile, Jonah Williams, the five-star safety is already on campus as he prepares to play for Texas baseball as well. Was the second-highest-ranked Longhorn at No. 15 nationally. Kade Phillips, the five-star defensive back came in at No. 21, and Eljiah Barnes, the five-star linebacker rounded out the top-32 for the Longhorns.
February 1Feb 1 Archmania is crazy it’s in full force. Number in heisman odds lol and has only played a few games. I hope he lives up to the hype for our sake but if I was another fan of another team I would get the annoyance. Somebody was throwing shade at arch being number 1 in heisman odds and Nahlim said something like everyone in his family has been drafted 1 or 2. I get it, I do. That name holds weight, but I don’t want this to be another Quinn situation where there was no way he was gonna be a bust because he was the highest ranked prospect almost ever. (He wasn’t a bust necessarily but didn’t live up to the hype) He has looked good the games he’s played and I’m hoping he lives up to all the expectations. Just feel sorry for the kid with all this expectation he feels like he has to live up to. Granted, he does seem bad ass and not phased by anything.

February 1Feb 1 OP - “Vertigo” gave a pretty good roster breakdown going into 2025. Spring portal - will Sark and Co. fill needs where they think they need a “stop gap,” prior to a youngster filling that role? We can only hope that the pieces are being placed to surround Arch in his 1st year starting. So much is already expected of him.Hook’em!!!

February 2Feb 2 On3 did their preseason early rankings of returning QBs and Arch came in #4 without having ever been a full time starter. Leavitt, Lagway, Allar (who I'm suspect of) and Sellers make up the rest of the top 5 in that order. That's 4 of the top 5 who were freshmen last year. That QB class is probably going to be wild if they're right. Edited February 2Feb 2 by wablty
