But it's being pushed as "Oh noes, Texas is a scared of the Bright Lights in the Shoes!!!!"

Then we'd have a short week to travel back to Austin for a game the next Saturday Assuming Texas did have some say on what day this particular game would be played (and I could see that being the case given the reported negotiations between the Big 12/Texas/Fox/ESPN about allowing Texas to get out of the Big 12 a season early), I would think Texas would prefer to play the game on Saturday for all of the logistical reasons stated above (fans already having travel plans, not wanting a short week for the team, etc.). I could also see ESPN not wanting Texas to agree to move the game to compete directly with their stand-alone broadcast the next day.

We have a better chance of winning with a sleepy, less liquored up crowd. Primetime is fun, but fuck asking for it.

But screw them moving it to Sunday where i already have flights leaving early that morning.. I would have to spend more money into changing that and paying for an extra night at a hotel. They announced that we were playing on Aug 30th a while back.. and i made plans around it.
May 22May 22 Best quote from old Mack when asked pregame about the team playing at night in the shoe in 05, “ we’ve played in nice places before we’ll be ok “ Texas has played many a teams Super Bowl all over the country, and the media still acts as if we’ve been irrelevant till now. It’s weird and maddening considering these are the ppl that have been covering the sport for a while. Haters gonna hate I guess.

Also...scared to play in the Shoe after we went to the Big House Last year in Non Conference, and TO Bama at night the year before? Texas is the ONE team you can't say is scared to play anywhere. It's not because of that. It's because they're sick of 11am start times. 2024 they had 7 2023 they had 6

May 23May 23 I'm still bitter about having to play 'Bama at fucking 11am in Texas in early September.
May 23May 23 of note, the number of 11am kicks they've dealt with is zero we are conditioned to the "BIG NOON" kick being 11am local, central time i am extremely pleased we told them to fuck off we had to give these 2 games to the b1g to pay off 0u's early exit and the financials were specifically negotiated around fox's NOON EASTERN economics if a night game was a better deal for fox, then it should have been negotiated that way, so it was also a better deal for us OH AND FUCK FOX AND THE RIG12 AND YORMARK AND ALL THE ANKLE BITERS AND MOST ESPECIALLY, FUCK TIM BRANDO AND FUCK YOU KEVIN MAR YOU BIASED SON OF A BITCH! happy memorial day everyone

So now they can save face and tell those mouthbreathers.. "see it's Texas fault"...
May 24May 24 I hope Ohio State gets another 7 Big Noon kickoff games this year. It's going to be hilarious. See if Penn State will move their kickoff to a different day to make that a prime time matchup. It's the Horseshoe! At night! Hahahahaha!

It’s pretty funny, fox is going to choose a Big 12 or Big 10 game almost every week for that noon time slot, when Texas and Oklahoma left the big 12 there went the two biggest tv draws. Then with Michigan not playing well, 9 am starts on the west coast would suck so they have to try and avoid those 4 teams. Default Ohio State at noon again. Couldn’t happen to a better group of people.

May 24May 24 and just to make sure it's not lost in the shuffle, CDC should call their bluff and propose friday night 29 august 7pm eastern we'll take your night game you want so bad, and fox will pay espn 50% of fox's profit from our game in ann arbor last year, our game in columbus this year, and then espn will gladly split the profits with fox from tosu's trip to austin in '26 and michigan's trip to austin in '27 advantage: jort townies abracadabra see, aggy, we're all about the league!
