Squints beat Nebraska on the road!  How about that.  And they were ranked too.
Yes he threw more TDs to KSU defenders than our own people, but he did beat Nebraska, much of it running himself.

That game was absolute fools gold. I thought they had figured out how to use him and he had put it all together.

Looking back at that game you see all the ridiculous plays we made and all the plays Nebraska just fucked up and it's incredible.

I remember driving over from Omaha the morning of the game listening to the NU pregame show. Their freshman QB Taylor Martinez (T-Magic!) the best thing since sliced bread. T-Magic this, T-Magic that, T-Magic for Heisman??!!?!! Bah God, he may win it as a Freshman!!1!1

Got pulled in the 2nd half with less than 100 yards of offense. Muschamp shut his shit down.

Only thing that made the game close was the corn punt return for a TD, on that dumbass call out of FG formation.

As I recall, the Texas defense basically spread out in a long line. They declined to pursue upfield, simply waited at the LOS, and settled for tackling Martinez for no gain. It soon became apparent that he simply didn't have any other dimension to his game.

Neb actually did a good job with getting guys open in the passing game on several occasions.   It seems like they dropped the ball on every one of those opportunities on recall.

I met him outside Buffalo Club one night.  This hits close to home.

i was invited to Cedric Woodards bday party at club osos back in 2004...  Priest arrived like a STAR that night.. he pulled up wearing an all white outfit with two blondes on each arm.. remember the club parting like the red sea as he walked to the VIP area

I was on campus the same time as Priest.  I saw him at the bus stop outside of Jester in early '95.  I remember him as not being very impressive from the standpoint of D1 running back.  I was standing next to him and thinking, "I am in better shape then this guy."  Not true from a cardio standpoint but from the physical stature standpoint, I felt pretty good about myself.  I think I even flexed once or twice while pretending to adjust my backpack.  Flash forward about a year or more later, after his injury and rehab... I run into him again outside of Jester at the same bus stop.  He was cut and I was basically starting to morph into a middle aged guy spending all of his time in books and computers.  I silently saluted him in my mind and began staring at my shoelaces.

That is what I remember most about the game: Nebraska guys dropping balls.

Charlie had one vs ou that was inconsequential for his tenure.  However, if Mack's Case McCoy lead team had lost to ou, I firmly believe Saban would've been our HC the next year.  There would've been more momentum to push his ass out.

A friend of mine from HS met him on 6th as well. She sent us a picture of them together and said she just met this guy who played at Texas but had no clue who he was. lol

I used to run into Ced filling up his truck at Dry Creek & 2222, not too far east of where he bit it and died.

He was fucking huge.  That guy was a beast.  Not the best RB we've ever had, but one of the damn good ones.

He stole my lunch in the basement of San Jacinto. RIP, Ced. May the bacon cheeseburgers and curly fries be neverending in heaven.

Did he like a high junior high bully just snatch your lunch infront of you?  lol. He definitely had some mental flaws.  He was supposed to be a party I was at the night he died.

Can you provide more details about his veiny forearms?

And he kissed his girl on the mouth with tongue!

Ceddy B was beast, not very tall but absurdly jacked. He had a convertible red M3 for a while in 2003/2004, seeing him and Will Matthews in that was a sight to see. He would come by and buy weed. After a while he just sent in his girl that we went to high school with to avoid the attention.

Yeah, would also like to hear how that went down.

A guy in an old FFL I was in went to SA Marshall HS the same time Priest did. I think he was a couple years older than Priest. Short, stocky white dude who played FB and occasionally got the ball near the goal line per his older brother (who was also in our league).

The dude used to love to brag in a serious manner how he kept Priest on the bench in HS. This was when Priest was wrecking shit for the Chiefs and fantasy owners were almost guaranteed a deep playoff run if they rostered him.

But his former HS teammate would never draft him even when he had the chance. He "knew what PH was REALLY like" and claimed he was a selfish player.

Oh, that guy's name was Kyle. Care to guess where he went to college?

Oh here we go

GTFO. Spurrier was a complete and utter buffoon when it came to handling QBs. He was truly one of the biggest idiots with QBs to have ever coached the game. Him questioning Sarkisian on that subject matter is a fucking joke.

I get it but what's the answer to his question? Why did Sark start Quinn over Arch, who immediately became a Heisman frontrunner after being named the starter?

Hatin Ass Spurrier's just desperate to be relevant again after he promised to make South Carolina into a title contender and... did not exactly do that. Particularly since Dabo's dumb ass ran him out of CFB coaching for good (although there were admittedly "extenuating circumstances," like a "church" make sure that Dabo had Saban-type talent). Anyway...

"IF ARCH SO GOOD WHY COME EWERS PLAY MORE IN SEASON??1 EWERS NOT EVEN HIGH DRAFT PICK." That's a very cursory and superficial "analysis" and is a LOT less than I would expect from someone with Spurrier's experience

Spurrier would have never recruited Arch.  His ideal qb needed a crow hop to throw a 20 yard pass.

For many Heisman level QBs it’s about their surroundings more so than them.  Numbers and team wins.  Throw in the name Manning and a few splash highlights, and you have an immediate contender.

Nevermind that Arch has an additional 8 months of practice reps, film study and maturity over last season.  He’s a 3rd guy who should be hitting his prime college QB self.

I’ll maintain my stance on Ewers over Manning.  Sark thought he could win with both.  So he stuck with the experienced guy.  I believe even after the season Sark stated Ewers can “make all the throws” so there’s the theoretical prototype QB that he likes.  Sark wouldn’t sacrifice the shot at the title just because.  He liked Quinn, thought he could win and went with the incumbent.

What are you even on about? In the off-season a former coach spoke about the situation regarding our upcoming starting QB. It's acceptable in this thread

I remember seeing Ricky Williams for the first over by the old social work building one day, just in passing. I remember thinking that I’d never seen anyone that looked anything like this guy ever in terms of his body proportions. Like, to the point where the pattern-recognition conventions my brain had invented to identify humans as human weren’t really working. I hadn’t felt so physically inadequate since the day I tried to pick up a teenaged lifeguard at Splashtown when I was 11.
