Too bad about the woman that was shot by Ice in Minn. I guess she considered herself a "Sovereign Citizen" and had no need to obey the lawful orders given to her... Hey, y'all remember the black woman

  • Flexing your ability to travel to a country you aren’t a citizen of to take advantage of their healthcare services while bitching about immigrants abusing the system is certainly something

Bring manufacturing back to America!

Wait, you mean we need them to help build the plant?

People actually available and qualified to build complex plants in the US:

Result: ain't shit gonna get built.

But Cletus will surely end up collecting 100% "disability" after "working" about half a shift.

“We’re going to do more worksite enforcement operations,” [Tom Homan] said. “These companies that hire illegal aliens, they undercut their competition that’s paying U.S. citizen salaries.

The Georgia plant is home to South Korean companies Hyundai and LG Energy Solution, which are building a battery manufacturing plant together. The $7.6 billion Hyundai plant employs more than 1,200 people. The company began building its manufacturing plant in 2022 and started making electric vehicles less than two years later, making the plant one of the largest economic developments in the state.

Gee, I wonder what US company making electric vehicles might benefit from knee-capping Hyundai.

Reminds me of my short time at Samsung Austin Semiconductor when Fab 2 was getting up and running.  Koreans companies definitely would rather have their own people working on site.  At least in the supervisor role to oversee everything.

Northern Ireland man from Lisburn kidnapped by Trump’s Ice raids because he “looked like a Mexican”. He had the correct visa, all his documents. He’s never been in trouble with police. Held in terrible conditions. A fellow captive couldn’t get his medication and dropped dead of a heart attack [contains quote post or other embedded content]

This should cool things off

NEWS: An ICE operation turned deadly in Chicago today, after a suspect resisted arrest and tried to drive his vehicle into agents, prompting an officer to shoot the suspect, who has been pronounced dead, a DHS official tells me. The officer suffered severe injuries but is stable.

Will the right get all bug eyed about this in the same way they did about Ashleigh Babbitt?

Wanna bet "Severe injuries"= a little road rash and a sprained wrist from trying to assault the guy through his car window.

Where are all the sycophant warmongering hypocrites calling out political violence by ice? No one should be killed for exercising their 4th amendment

It should be way bigger news that Trump effectively killed any attempt by foreign countries to build new factories in the United States with this idiotic ICE move. Just incalculable long term damage. Trump just killed his "build America" push https://www.wsj.com/world/asia/confusion-anger-relief-korean-engineer-tells-of-week-in-u-s-ice-detention-8a61a170
Meanwhile in Korean media there is clarity that Trump directed this raid out of spite following his Oval Office meeting with the ROK President, who pushed back aggressively on Trump's praise for the North Korean dictator. They're right. US media have no clue of what's going on.

#2421
Yeah man they ain’t coming back. This is going to be one of the biggest foreign policy blunders of my lifetime, and it’s entirely possible that some guy at ICE ordered it not having any clue what he was doing. This is why we used to leave foreign affairs to sensitive nerds. [contains quote post or other embedded content]

We became, in a staggeringly short amount of time (historically speaking), the dumbest nation in the history of the planet. Just self-immolating at every possible turn. And I’m including when countries like El Salvador and Honduras went to war with each other over a soccer match.

It doesn't matter really, but I am curious.  Were these guys's Visa's expired or not allowing them to work on what they were?  I know visas are complicated and I'm sure companies have worked in the gray areas.

Yeah, they fucked up GOOD this time. ICE has somehow avoided any real consequences for their human rights violations, but when a few hundred South Koreans tell the same story about the shit that goes down in these facilities, I think this may become a pretty huge deal.  Fucking idiots.

Remember…this is how we treat our ALLIES.
Why would anyone invest in any relationship with the US beyond what is absolutely essential?

Clipped for space.

An additional comment from that sm account is that the SK media outlet that published that op-ed on the detention/deportations is left leaning but left leaning in that they support the current US admin. She continued the thread with additional news accts of South Koreans chanting 'we are Charlie' etc.

As for the article itself, which was translated from Hangul if I had to guess (not a languages expert), the phrase "far rights may have secretly rejoiced," --seemed to me that there was nothing secret about it. Groups are pretty open with the hate these days and appear by all accounts rather proud of it....unless it serves the purpose to play the victim, in which case the hood becomes replaced with a halo.

Tonight, DOJ dropped still another assault case. This time it's a woman who allegedly spit on a deputy U.S. marshal, and, when asked whether she had done that, replied “I sure the [expletive] did. And I’d spit again, you [expletive].” DOJ has charged her with a misdemeanor in local court instead.

So I met this elderly couple. Married for 41 years and they've lived in the Los Angeles area for 50 years now. Because of this clown show that is ICE, these two people, who are retired, should just get to be enjoying their lives without worrying about ICE picking them up. The wife says they now both carry their passport with them everywhere they go in case they do get detained. This is where we are at. Elderly Hispanics who contributed good things to society (He was a welder for the last 20 working years of his life, and she just retired from WIC after 36 years.) and yet now everyday they realize they could be picked up off the street just because of how they look. For those of you that kept friends who are in the cult give them a thank you for doing this to people like the ones I met. That story got to me, and I won't forget them.

Shit man, I am a Spanish speaking white dude, born in Thailand (Dad was there serving as a SF Officer) and I carry my passport card.

Showed to the family I am staying with. He is a retired SF Colonel, wife is Jordanian. Yep, she carries hers.

No one is safe unless you are Amish, and well ya know you cannot trust them.
