Too bad about the woman that was shot by Ice in Minn. I guess she considered herself a "Sovereign Citizen" and had no need to obey the lawful orders given to her... Hey, y'all remember the black woman

I’m sure they would do that also. I’m not sure why you’re pretending they won’t try to do everything they can to fuck with elections. Pretty easy for ICE to start snagging brown people from election lines.

TLDR: Purging the rolls before the election is the easiest thing to do. ICE's biggest impact on election day, if we believe they will nab people in line or in voting areas, would not be the blue border states, but the red border states that could flip, but that strategy has its own problems.

Purging the rolls beforehand (say he gets his birthright win) is easier and more rewarding for Trump and could see hundreds of thousands, but probably millions of minorities stripped of voting rights (if they get the birthright win, there's a whole lot more Trump can try after that). Of course, the blue states are mostly fighting giving their rolls over, so it'll be difficult.

Leaving it up to election day runs so many risks and there is no guarantee that they can have a significant impact on the states they can operate in given how thinly scattered they would be. There's 95,000 - 100,000 voting locations in the United States (possibly a lot more). They've got something like 5,000 - 7,000 ICE agents in the field depending on how you count them (and they are having trouble "surging" another 1,500 to Minnesota). Start deploying those across multiple states and they get spread thin fast, and we know ICE prefers to operate in large numbers. For the sake of argument we will pretend that ICE will be out grabbing people randomly in line and in the voting locations and not facing resistance from the locals (including judges) and that there aren't protests tying up ICE agents. ICE doesn't operate on the interior states even if they had more agents, but we are still talking about probably 50,000 - 70,000 voting locations in the border states.

Ok, so thousands of ICE agents are going to be directly used to physically go after voters in the border states. Now how many people can say 7,500 ICE agents nab (and I'm being generous, plenty of those agents are having to support the admin/detention side of ICE)? We know from footage that it takes on average 4-7 ICE agents to take down one person and they are not very fast on processing and letting these people go when they find they're innocent or having to transport them somewhere for detention, and they travel in large numbers. It's not hard to see those thousands of ICE agents being tied up for hours on end right off the bat if they grab a few thousand people (maybe even a few hundred would do it, ICE seriously prefers to group up). And that's assuming no large-scale protests that tie up ICE agents.

Blue States are a waste of resources.

A lot of those blue states have not turned over voting information, so they don't even know what precincts to target. That's a bit of a problem that they will have to counter by just guessing where to go.

But wait, why would they even bother with blue states? Going after brown people in line for voting or in the voting booth in Minnesota or California seems kind of useless, as it does for most of the blue states, since Rs aren't going to flip those states given the numbers of people in them who are liberals. Meanwhile, all of the shit they've done now and before the election is going to get a lot more people out to vote against the Rs in those states as well, including those who normally don't because their blue votes don't matter in a sea of blue votes but who are pissed off, including many whites who won't be worried about ICE. So, there's no gain in those blue states.

But what if the target is red states that could flip?

Okay, so are there any border states (which includes both oceans and the Gulf of Mexico) on this map that are red and in danger of flipping and ICE can use their magical powers to have an impact on keeping minority votes down? Well, Trump clearly needs to be worried about Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Florida (fucking Miami flipping for the first time in almost 3 decades), and probably Wisconsin and Arizona and maybe even Michigan. All are border states so ICE can legally try and fuck around under the pretext of immigration enforcement.

So, we are talking 1,000 or so ICE agents (max) in each of those red states that have millions of voters. Not a good number, but those are red states that probably turned over their voter rolls so they at least know the precincts to target. Okay, what about all of the people in those states who are shocked by ICE and don't normally vote or care to vote, what if they get out and vote or there are moderates/people on the right who decide not to show up because they don't like what's going on? That becomes its own problem.

Bookmark this post and we'll come back in November and discuss just what impact ICE had. If they can suppress hundreds of thousands of votes in the red border states in danger of flipping and keep them from flipping, I'll admit I'm wrong. If Trump tries to use ICE against voters, I think it'll be in the Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and probably Wisconsin and Arizona.

I'm not arguing that they won't try to fuck around, I just think their fuckery will be different than some here think - I don't think they will walk in and steal ballot boxes or shut down locations like some are claiming.

And they simply don't have the numbers to have a massive impact on election day itself (I've never seen a pseudo-police force that needs such a high number of people to apprehend and detain just one person), but if they want to try something I will argue that it will be in red states in danger of flipping.

One thing I would toss into my manifesto above is that in the red states, they will have less resistance, so fewer agents will be needed for crowd control, leaving more to fuck around.

I think it more like he sends ice into cities in high minority areas to suppress turnout.

And/or, he sends ice to confiscate ballots on Election Day. No one will stop him initially. By the time the courts catch up, they will already have taken possession of the ballots. Whose going to trust any subsequent count after they have possessed them for 1 minute much less several days.

There was an article I read today that said something to the effect that Trump has soured on the National Guard because he realized that they were resistant to blind loyalty. ice and border patrol he’s discovered, are in fact loyal and their numbers are growing by the day.

I read a Klippenstein article that CBP/ICE are not wholly on board with the gestapo surges and they're decidedly unpopular with some elements.

So, while your Bovinos and other trogs and chuds seem to be utterly loyal, it's not institution-wide.

I am afraid of what I'm gonna read when I open this thread tomorrow.

FWIW, one of our friends in Minnesota said ICE is being challenged more and more with specific legal phrases/questions that are being passed around social media, and in some cases it works. People are also being told to delay ICE as long as possible in any encounters until people show up to help. She said that could have easily happened with that Hmong family in that clip. People up there have numbers to contact if they come into contact with ICE and ICE knows it - had those ICE agents lingered any longer, and the homeowner had called one of these groups, a bunch of people with cameras, phones, and whistles could have easily shown up and been invited onto the property by the owner and harassed ICE, and there are lawyers offering their services to these people for free.

They also they are heavily tracking ICE around (from their hotels on) and making a ruckus when they try and do their thing, or when they linger in an area too long (which could be why those guys started walking away from the Hmong family).

She said there are more and more Minnesotans getting tired of it (as we saw in the clip above) and the protests could easily ramp up substantially.

Tying into the comment I made above about the Hmong family and agents walking way, I have a feeling that the ones who are not volunteering for the "surge" and the ones who are walking away/disengaging when challenged by people who know their rights and/or not losing control of themselves when they are being cussed out/mocked, are the more experienced agents and/or not on board with shit going down. But there's plenty of dumbasses, like Jonathan Ross who thought it wise to wedge his arm into a moving car.

I still think some ICE agent, probably one of the 47-day wonders, is going to kill one or more innocents. I wouldn't be surprised if Puppy Killer and Trump are hoping that happens, thinking it will put fear into the people, or that Puppy Killer will order some big, publicized raids to try and scare people, but the Minnesotans are a pretty fucking hardy breed (that winter will test you every year).

I’m sure it’s not, but I take no solace in it. If you listen to what BP and Ice officers are saying to the protesters, they seem pretty bought in to being pro MAGA. I read that as well but had the impression that it came from long tougher ups and not rank and file.

You don’t have to be religious in any way, shape, form or fashion to agree with the intent of the message. This is the kind of church I am used to going to (Sang in a Baptist gospel choir in both Oak Cliff and in The Bronx) and these are the Christians I find commonality with and not the fascist white nationalist frauds running the country.

I looked up one of them, the Tawakal Halal grocery store. It's totally legit. Lots of food on the shelves. 15 Google Reviews. Average of 4 stars. The first Google Review is 9 years ago. Here's one from three years ago.

"This grocery store is my go-to place for all my daily needs. They always have a wide selection of fresh produce, pantry staples, and household essentials. The store is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, making shopping a breeze.

What truly sets this place apart is the excellent customer service. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any questions or recommendations. Whether I’m looking for a specific item or need help carrying my groceries, they go above and beyond to ensure a great shopping experience.

I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for quality products and top-notch service. It’s a reliable and convenient place to shop!"

Here's their Google Page. Looks like food and cleanliness to me. And if it's all fraud, they're sure going through a lot of trouble to give the illusion of legitimacy. They should sue him.

These 47-day wonders are not very competent people.

I was talking to a retired USAF officer buddy of mine. He said in his basic training they were taught that there are about a million things you can do to de-escalate with someone in a car who looks like they may be a threat. Waive your hands or even your weapon in the air. You can shoot out the tires, shoot out the radiator if it get to that. But you don't go willy nilly shooting into the passenger cabin. What if there's a kid in there? And most importantly, you never ever step in front of a vehicle. He emphasized this was USAF basic. You know how few people in the USAF are going to find themselves in that situation? But everyone knows it. His point was, this agency has completely failed its agents. It is so patently obvious that they are throwing complete morons in harms way with little to know relevant training. Not to mention the fact that why does ICE need guns and tactical gear like a swat team in the middle of an American city? Minneapolis is not Iraq.

Infuriating on every possible level.

Live Updates: Trump Threatens Insurrection Act to Quash Minneapolis Protests

President Trump on Thursday threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to quell efforts to disrupt his immigration crackdown in Minneapolis. Tensions have risen in the city since a federal agent killed a woman there last week, with the administration doubling down on aggressive tactics that local officials say are meant to spread fear and provoke backlash.

Another shooting involving a federal agent on Wednesday evening touched off hours of clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers. A man from Venezuela who was in the country illegally was shot in the leg after resisting arrest, a federal spokeswoman said.

The president, who has previously threatened to invoke the 1807 act — which allows the use of the military on U.S. soil to quell an insurrection or invasion — said he would do so “if the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrections from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E.”

The administration has labeled Renee Good, 37, a mother and poet who was shot in her car last week by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, as a domestic terrorist. Local officials have rejected the federal interpretation of events, with demonstrators calling for the arrest and prosecution of the agent, Jonathan Ross — an unlikely outcome under federal law.

Many people are missing the point that this is key.

The law on self-defense has a standard that you do not get to invoke self-defense if you intentionally create or provoke the dangerous situation (I can't goad you into a fight, then when you fight back, I shoot you and claim self-defense).

DHS policy flatly prohibits stepping in front of a vehicle to block its progress.

IF the shooter in MN was indeed in front of the vehicle (video indicates he was not directly in front), he placed himself there for that purpose, in violation of DHS policy. One cannot violate law enforcement policy to create the dangerous situation, and then claim self-defense.

For all of you "rule of law, just follow the law!" types....apply that to the shooter. Who flatly violated DHS policy, which as a matter of law deprives him of the option of self-defense. The law and rules matter, right?

I wanna scream every time these shitty journalists cite the regime's story as if it is fact and throw a "a federal spokeswoman said" in that the end. The regime has burned all credibility. If the journalists don't have any support for that version, they should be leading with the fact that this is the regime's version - e.g., "According to the regime's spokeswoman, who has repeatedly lied in recent weeks in the face of clear video evidence to the contrary ..."

Motherfuckers, stop doing the Trump admin's bidding.

Anyone else getting real fucking tired of Dem politicians telling these protesters to act peacefully?

The "opposition" party is completely neutered. They are not doing a DAMN THING to stop the Trump regime. They have shown themselves to be powerless and willing to be run over. It's become clear that regular people in this country are the only option to stop this authoritarian takeover.

#4447

There's an easy way to send that message (and by the way, I DO think that elected leaders need to state that all such resistance must be an exercises of our god-given and Constitutionally guaranteed rights, exercised non-violently):

"Do what ICE will not do -- follow the law. Exercise your rights, and demand that representatives of the government that must be of, by, and for the people, respect those rights and follow the law. Report any violations of the law, by anyone, including ICE, to state law enforcement. Minnesota believes in the Rule of Law and the Constitution. We will act to protect and defend them."
