Flexing your ability to travel to a country you aren’t a citizen of to take advantage of their healthcare services while bitching about immigrants abusing the system is certainly something

  • What’s worse than your average maga about sparky is he’s posting this vitriol while sitting at a dialysis machine getting a life extending service paid for by you, me, and the very immigrants he despi

Well if that is the case and they are in prisons, why would we need ICE raids to capture them?

Yep. One of the pastors is an old family friend. She's a badass.

If you went to church you'd know.

How do you "fire" a substitute teacher?

Depends on the district. Some are W2, others are IC’s. It’s my understanding that FWISD fits the former description.

Send them home at lunch?

I’m here for the stories about citizen kids coming home to empty houses bc mami and papi were sent away.

And for the inevitable raids on hospitals, schools, and churches.
That’s when this shit gets turned up to 11.

As much as I feel like a lot of Americans are beyond saving, it’ll likely be then that we can make the true determination if the shining city in a hill has been completely snuffed out by MAGA.

I don't think that guy was fired. I believe he was removed pending the district investigating.

Jfc. I know this, but are we talking about politics in this political forum?  Reagan made the phrase a centerpiece of his campaign and even put it in his farewell address.

The IRS doesn’t give a shit about citizenship status

The IRS doesn't even care how you make your money, as long as you report it and pay taxes. Doesn't matter how illegal it was for you to make it (you robbed a bank, you sell drugs, you took a bribe, etc), the IRS can't unilaterally inform law enforcement about it.

Calm down. Reagan used it. As did other politicians both before and after him, including JFK. Your post suggested that you thought its use in connection with American exceptionalism began with Reagan, thus the responses. Or maybe you hate JFK and Obama too. I really don't know. Whatever.

This. The report is intentionally misleading.

I don't know, @Spankytoes may be on to something.  I just sent an email to my HR dept telling them that I no longer want them to deduct SS aand Medicare from my paycheck cause I don't expect them to be solvent when I retire.  I am also going to instruct the local Exxon to stop charging me tax on my gas fill-ups since I don't want to pay that anymore.   MAGA big brains can save us all a lot of change if we stop being sheeple and just do our own research!

Went to mass (catholic) Sunday for the first time in a couple of months and no mention of helping immigrants. The priest did make sure to bring up school choice being on the table this week…so I got that going for me which is nice. 🥲

Learned this AM that my in-laws' illegally-here-for-25+-years maid suffered a stroke last night and is at Presbyterian Hospital. Wondering how that will ultimately shake out.

When they asked my wife and I, "Did you hear what happened to Myrna last night?" we both expected the next words to be, "She was picked up and is being deported."

Does this Catholic church also have a Catholic school that would benefit from school choice being passed?

Yup.  He passed off school choice as meaning “those who cannot afford to attend Catholic private schools would now be able to afford it if this passed”.

I kinda wanted to blurt out “what happens to the public schools and anybody who works for them?” but didn’t 🫠

I’m very surprised that @Spankytoes hasn’t been back to this thread. He seemed so honest and informed with his arguments.

And the Church would get more money per student from the state than public schools get? Did I get that right? I hope that shit is just a rumor.

I’ve been back. It’s just pointless to lay out any argument, whether logical, flawed or you agree with, on here. I couldn’t care less about my “internet cred” or whether people think I’m a moron. So I’m leaving it for the inevitable pile on and dick slapping for y’all. It’s the CR playbook any time there is a dissenting opinion because everyone else is clearly more educated than I am. I’m fine with you thinking that. In the end, you’ve got at least 4 more years of this shit. Pace yourselves

You demonstrated a shocking lack of basic knowledge of how taxes work, and have yet to address any of the rebuttals levied toward you, you fucking coward. Stop being a bitch. Be an adult for once in your life.

You must be used to liberal cucks being offended pretty easily. Not worth wasting my time on it. There’s no discussion to be had which makes it pointless to defend my position

I think people are just asking you to explain your thoughts that only people with a social security number pay taxes. I posted two links last night, no negative or accusatory commentary, and you didn't respond. I could infer something from that, but instead I'll give you a chance to explain your beliefs now. You know, unless you don't have any real rebuttal.

"I think Stephen McGee was a better quarterback than Vince Young."

"Why do you think that? VY set multiple school records and led the Longhorns to a national championship. McGee never did any of those things at A&M."

"Ugh, it's pointless to talk to y'all in this echo chamber. No one listens to reason any more!"

Most of those funds for facilities and coaches come from private bonds. Maybe not the coach's salary, although they usually get that high by also being the school's athletic director.

But why?

I guess this is just more of the TEA and the state government trying to strip as much power from local government and school boards as they can.

I know. I was a coach (Soccer FTW). This dude is not AND went 0-12 last season. Oh, and the team (players) boycotted those last two games so they were forfeits or some shit like that. Sorry, don't have details. I don't track HS football.

This guy does.
