Lot of younger Surlers may not know Earl had 2 brothers who were great Horns in their own right.  RIP to Tim, one hell of a DL for us in the 70's.

Earl had two brothers, twins, Tim and Steve.  Tim wrecked shop on Defense , first at Tyler JT where they won state in '77 and then at Texas, where Tim set records on the Defense.

Good job on the headline, Statesman.

Journalism is dead.

Loved watching him play. Had a motor that never stopped. His on the field accomplishments are all the more remarkable given his size.

RIP[emoji869]

Remember watching Tim block a punt in 1975 Bluebonnet Bowl game which totally changed the momentum.  Colorado was leading 21-7 at half and Tim’s block led to Texas TD to tie the game 21-21.  Texas went on to win 38-21.  Great player.

RIP
