We need to be careful. There is an excellent chance that the Canadian Mounted Police will strike in the dead of winter - when the rivers are frozen over - and will disguise themselves with American hockey jerseys to enter our houses at night (after politely knocking) and then fill up our breath holes with moss and mud while we sleep.

They just reinforced what I already thought of in my head though. I’ve never been to Canada or met anyone from there. I know they have the urban hub of Toronto, but when you think of the rest of it you think rugged outdoors, people tapping trees for syrup, hockey fanatics, etc. Not progressivism. And I imagine they love America and American stuff.

Go to the West Coast.  Almost 50% of people in Vancouver were born outside of Canada.  It’s the kind of place that would make Musk shit his pants over them losing their culture to outsiders, but it’s a decent melting pot from the few times we visited my in-laws there.

Canada is not the Trailer Park Boys.  Well, parts are, but they sure as fuck couldn’t afford to live in the nice areas.

Maybe when we annex Canada those guys from Liberte de Quebec that Hans got freed can fight with The Proud Boys.

So I was under the impression virtually all of Canada was pretty conservative and in favor of American annexation. If you’ve seen the Nelk Boys, they’re an extremely popular group of gen z influencers that are hardcore trump supporters. But after getting called out today I did some digging, and it looks like much of Canada wouldn’t be as welcoming to a US takeover as you would think. It’s hard to imagine it coming to fruition now

I was born with dual citizenship in Canada.  My mom and aunt are still citizens.  I have a shit load of extended family there that I get together with annually.

It’s not about how they feel about American politics.  They are proud of their country, proud of their independence, and have absolutely 0 interest in bending the knee to anyone.  Yeah, they maintain a symbolic relationship with the British monarchy, but it’s completely symbolic.

Watch the crowd belt “Oh Canada” at the top of their lungs before an NHL game.

Vancouver is way more similar to San Francisco than it is to the rest of Canada.

* Strong and free

I was watching the Ottawa@Nashville game last night, and some people started booing when Oh Canada started, but it died out very quickly.

Ok, hear me out..

We send Kyle Rittenhouse and some of his friends as the first wave of the attack.

We've already kicked the shit out them in the last 2 World Junior championships;  that's honestly about the worst thing we can do to Canada.

My Canadian FIL complains about this just about every time we talk, ane yet he thinks it's weird that anyone cares about college football or basketball in the U.S.

Just getting caught up on this thread.  For context, I'm married to a Canadian, have lived in Canada, have half-Canadian children, never miss a single Maple Leafs game all season long lest I run afoul of my wife (but also really enjoy it in spite of myself), and hang out with a number of Canadian celebrities regularly thanks to my work and marrying into a well known Canadian family (it's a bit like rubbing elbows with a mattress salesman who is known locally in the metroplex for their commercials on the CW, if that mattress salesman also had some Emmys and Grammys to go along with their Geminis and JUNOs).

Holy shit, man.  Everyone, at one point or another, talks out of their ass about topics they don't know much about. I know I do.  But you, sir, are the Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Derek Jeter, AROD, and Thurman Munson (combined) of Dunning-Krugering.  Congratulations.

Yeah, and, ummm, I have a girlfriend in Canada, she's super-hot.  But she's in Canada, you wouldn't know her.

nah, mine is real. MIA met him. I think he even bought one of his paintings.

I'm fairly sure my wife and kids are real, but I can't wholly discount the possibility of some sort of dissociative fugue state.

Every few years, BC folks are polled about who they feel most aligned with in the rest of North America. WA gets between 50-60%, depending on the year (higher recently), CA 15% or so, and nowhere else gets more than around 10% - even other Canadian provinces (Québec gets about 5% lol). Cascadia is a real thing up here in the PNW, although we're quiet and polite about it. Most of us grew up crossing the border frequently, in both directions, although White Rock isn't nearly as interesting as Matamoros or Nuevo Laredo, heh.

Hear me out. I think Kyle needs to be boots on the ground as an MP in occupied Gaza.  His unique combination of skills (warrior and cultural sensitivity) makes him a natural to patrol the dark streets.
