I can get used to these Saturdays where the Longhorns win then the Astros win a playoff game.

Too bad next Saturday won't have a Longhorn game or an Astros playoff game...

Two Diamond Club tickets available for the Sunday night game.  Free.  Need to pick them up from me in 77027. Rules: Poster must be a big contributor to this thread/last years shag thread.  No gue

This team is so well prepared. Hitting approach, defensive alignments, situational awareness. Just a joy to watch

Have a good night's sleep Boston, you get Cole tomorrow 🤩

It's a much needed family relief valve.

It really is. As Longhorn and Houston fans, we have become accustomed to hero ball where one great player takes us over the top.  But we are the evil empire now. Feels good.

Pretty weird game. Astros’ pitchers did an excellent job outside of the 5th and eventually we took advantage of that bullshit Boston was putting on the mound. Big game tomorrow night.

7 game series. And we are a road team. Id rather play the whole thing in Fenway actually.

Dude if you havent noticed we fuck bitches at home in the playoffs. 1 loss in the past 2 years. It don't make a shit cause we have the best team in the world

Truth.

TBS post show is all about umps strike zone, Yankee hangover, Verlander’s problems out of the stretch. Fuck you Pedro!

Just keep with the disrespect gives us more fire

I totally missed Cora getting tossed.

It happened between innings during commercial

The strike he complained about was a borderline call at best. Not sure why he chose that one to get all worked up about.

Do yourself a favor and watch MLB networks post game.

Pedro makes me laugh.  He starts off trying to be neutral and then quickly pivots to we when referring to Boston.

yawn.  we didn't even play well.

Exactly.   If you would have told me we would only get 5hits, I would have written off the game as a loss.

cora said he thought sale finished strong.

if it's in the 4th inning, what's the fucking difference?

Boston had 3 hits.  They will have a tough time scoring runs in this series against Astros pitching.

To make up for it they had an error and gave us 10 walks and 3 hbps.

They can just blah blah blah while we mercilessly beat Boston down.

Goddamn I love these guys. Never Settle as the team’s 2018 motto is looking better and better each day.

Also, this is badass:

I get in trouble for cussing too much during 'family time," AKA  stupid strike / ball calls or calling out players' bitchassedness.  In last night's case Benintendi's tirade after JV had walked a billion folks and Bennyboy thought he'd stand at the plate and count on not getting strikes.

The ump's zone was inconsistent for both teams.  Boston can get fucked if they're bitching about it.

the pitch when the Boston catcher stood up, but it was a perfect strike was unbelievable.

I think blue flat out did not see it, but the catcher stood up, so it had to be out of the zone, right?

Do the Red Sox keep walking bregman tonight ?

Does joe west get knocked out first in dodgeball tonight ?

Do Red Sox pitchers keep hitting Astros hitters ?

That’s on the catcher for completely blocking the view. How can an umpire call a strike he doesn’t see?

I was pulling for Joe Kelly to drill White and get his Fight Club ass beaten by a dude named Tyler.

I wasn't necessarily blaming the ump, but on a night of bizarro shit happening, that play definitely contributed.

And he’s fat as fuck. I haven’t seen him in years so I’m sure it’s old news. But damn, mix in a salad, Pedro.

that was an amazing pitch. he threw it again for a strike a few pitches later.

Marwin's play of the long flyball off the monster was also pretty outstanding. Made that hit one of the longest singles ever.

Its insane a computer isn’t calling balls/strikes these days. Just absurd. Or you should at least have three challenges or something.

You know what franchise would manipulate the hell out of that computer system...

Sorry but you cross up a catcher like that, you'll never get a strike called even if it is one. Never seen that called

The one with the baddest motherfucking pitching staff in MLB???

Yeah that Joe Kelly pitch honestly might have been the single greatest pitch I have ever seen then he went and did it a 2nd time almost.  Ump got it right once.

FTRS let's go for the jugular tonight

Biggest game of the season is tonight, boys; let them nuts hang.

Score early, score often, leave no doubt.

So the Astros have homered in 13 straight playoff games dating back to Game 6 of last year's ALCS

This ties the mark held by the Houston Astros of the NL who homered in all 12 games they played in the 2004 playoffs but the streak started in the 2001 NLDS against the Braves by one Daryle Ward

Crazy the Astros have post season team hr records.  I recall the days where a single player (Dave kingman?) had more home runs than the Astros had as a team.

Seemed more like an everyday midseason beatdown of the Twins or Arlington than a Game 1 ALCS clash of titans. Translation: We looked half asleep at the plate but still put a knot on Beantown’s noggin. Let’s wake up and totally truck them tonight.

Somebody's going yard off of Price tonight.  I'd bet on Bregman or Correa.

Whynotboth?.gif

Until the top of the 9th, it very much felt like the alcs

This. Every at bat was crucial and it definitely felt like a fucking championship series game.
