December 22, 20205 yr Two former Longhorns selected to the NFL Pro Bowl Cami Griffin December 21, 2020 10:25 pm On Monday, the NFL announced the 2021 Pro Bowl rosters for the AFC and NFC. In typical 2020 fashion, this Pro Bowl will look much different than previous years. After the game was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL decided to work with EA Sports to create a week-long virtual Pro Bowl game where the chosen players will play within Madden NFL 21 beginning on January 31, 2021. Regardless, it’s an honor to be selected. The rosters are flooded with players from the Chiefs and Packers whom are tied with a league-best seven players each to make the Pro Bowl, but two former Longhorns were also included. To no surprise, Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker was chosen as a starter for the AFC squad. Safety Quandre Diggs was listed as a starter on the NFC roster. Diggs was a four-year player at Texas who played in 52 career games with 49 starts. He ended his career in Austin tied for ninth on the all-time interceptions list and was a three-time All-Big 12 selection. The majority of Diggs’ professional career was spent with the Detroit Lions, but he’s found success with the Seattle Seahawks over the last two seasons. Diggs has compiled 52 total tackles in 2020 with nine passes defended and four interceptions. Tucker provided Texas fans with one of the most memorable moments when he kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired to defeat Texas A&M in 2011 to conclude the rivalry. He’s now one of the best kickers in NFL history. Tucker’s top two seasons came in 2016 and 2019 with a field goal percentage as high as 97.44. In 2020, he’s made 23 of 26 field goal attempts. https://longhornswire.usatoday.com/2020/12/21/texas-longhorns-nfl-pro-bowl-justin-tucker-quandre-diggs/
