Light just never came on for him, unfortunately. Good luck to him in his studies.

Even Brian Davis gets it. Granted, he's responding to an obvious aggy troll that's acting like he's a Longhorn.

I suspect this may be a trend for players who are in the middle of the pack but also want (and have the means and intellect) to focus on their education. Given the academic competition to get into certain schools on campus (i.e. business) and the year round demands of being in the football program I can see where some sober thinking about where best to invest ones energies is a smart move. With 40 years of post college hindsight, I wish I had worked harder and focused more on school.

He's no loss dude. Chill out. They're all coming out at once for a reason.

I would tell aggy Twitter douche, our guy just left the team and loved the school so much he stayed and got a degree.  Their guy just transferred  and trashed the program.

Hahaha! I was saying "stahhhhhp'' to Artie Fatso, whose post, for some reason, kept replicating (at least on my screen).

I am all aboard for strategic attrition.

Hits close to home. I saw him at a chipotle once close to home.

Man I remember him getting rave reviews at the all-star game he participated in his senior year. I thought we got a sleeper. Best of luck to him.

I was too busy looking at his Johnny Bravo hair.

Thought he could really contribute here.  Had a great frame and physical tools, just couldn't get to click on the field.  Good luck to Andrew off the field and hope he gets his degree and does well.

A lot of folks thought we got a sleeper. Turns out we were right. He just kept right on sleeping.

Kept getting injured and never put on weight like people expected.

So many busts in that 2016 class:

Cuffee, Curtis, Daniels, DeLance, Elliott, Fitzgerald, Mapps, Southall, Aucoin..

He wasn't highly rated but was a lot of people's dark horse favorite commit (including me).  Sad to see him go.

The big end, it's said, on the field never tread
When the skies of November turn gloomy

Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and crew was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early

I think 247 had him rated really high, not sure what his composite was though.

His composite ended up around 91.  He's shockingly quick for his size is why he turned so many heads.

The end was the pride of the Flower Mound side

Coming back from some time spent in Austin.

The Wreck of the Andrew Fitzgerald by Austin folk singer Thomas Hermfoot......That's gold Jerry...Gold!

I thought he was going to be the next or close to a robison. Yes Robison because he's white and when comparing players they obviously have to be the same race.

Does not the human race count??

i never saw it. typically if you look back at film on sleepers that turn out good, you see an explosiveness (i.e. Roach). he didn't show any of that. glad for him that he used the opportunity though to hopefully get a degree from UT.

Shut the fuck uuuuuuuup Derrick you insignificant piece of dog shit stuck to your D'Onta's shoe.

Edited by texifornia

Derricks 2 min are up. His audience is now the anti-Texas crowd. Good luck monetizing that.

In reality, I'm sure Fitzgerald was counseled out by being told what his options were. Either show up to compete at the position that we think is the most likely to be productive for you, or graduate, or transfer. The guy wasn't getting it done on the field and they're not running a fucking charity. Any program worth a fuck is shooting straight with kids and holding them accountable to this level. I expect we'll hear about position switches or more decisions to stop playing or transfer either in the next few days or directly after the season, and then before and after spring, and then during every fall camp period. It's kind of stunning to see that there is any reaction, whatsoever, negative to this.

Since he has NO REASON to spread RUMORS it seems like by now he would have moved on to talking about the Texans and whatever team Armanti plays for.  Grit newspaper? Amway?

So what is wrong with offering a guy that is never going to play at his current position a chance to try another position?

I don't know what to think about that.

The 3-deep TE does see the field more than the 3-deep DEs do.  However, Leitao had positive buzz in practice.  However-however, Cummins did just get injured.  Also, Ossai maybe developing quickly?

Maybe a grain of truth to it?

grain? It sounds entirely plausible. I just can't figure out why Foreman or anyone would think there's anything wrong with doing it.

There are so many ANNOYING things about his TWEETS that I don't know where to start.... ALLEGEDLY!

I have NO REASON to dislike the guy (UNTIL NOW).  Like the rest of us who are OUTSIDE the program, he needs to STFU!

So with all these guys quitting / transferring, what do the numbers look like for 2019?

Texas will sign 25-28 guys and the 85 man limit was never going to be an issue. Without anyone else leaving, but including Demarco Boyd and Grandy as removed from the team, the count right now is at like 22 available scholarships for 2019. There will certainly be more than 6 more people leaving between now and August 2019.

Yeah, it's obvious now that Herman is very Saban like with the way he handles rosters.

I think we will take 25-28 every cycle with Herman.
