Not really trivial, but this is as good a place to drop it as any:   My son has a SATB2 gene mutation which has left him with a severe speech delay.  He didn't say "Mama" until he was 7 (he'

If I'm going to work the day after Thanksgiving, I'm going to do it while listen to Madonna.

Borderline is such a great song.

Good Thanksgiving leftovers. Not the shit you don't really want. The good stuff.

Stuffing and gravy is all you need to say.

Breaking up the thanksgiving leftover train with fish tacos last night, all with fish caught by my son and me standing on one of our docks, then filleting them together on the back deck. As I told him while we were filleting the fish, “I don’t care if we never do this again—I’m just glad we’re doing it now.”

Watching ear wax removal videos with my kids and wife standing over my shoulder.

Solid 10 minutes of ewwwwww. no way! oh my! that's so gross. disgusting. ooouuugghh.

Get a BeBird wifi camera ear pick. Kids will be all sorts of fascinated and grossed out by what they have in their own ears.

i have to say these videos are false advertising.  i knew my ears were clean, but watching those videos made me think there may still be goop in there. i q-tip religiously despite the popular notion that it just 'pushes wax deeper in'.

so i went for a deep ear cleaning on vacation this year and all they pulled out were a few small flakes of white wax and stray hair. it was pleasantly ticklish though.

Yup in a big way!

It's pleasantly ticklish and has the ASMR light scratching sound. I use a ear spoon at least once a week just for the sensations.

Getting gunk out of my ear is secondary, but every once in a while a tiny speck comes out, and I'm get trivially pleased.

You can do it at home to an extent by pouring hydrogen peroxide in your ear and let it bubble away for few minutes.  Then just turn over and dump it out in a paper towel.

Does anyone know where I can find more of his work?

Driving home on 360.  Fuggin' clown is doing 40 in a 60, and backed up like 40 cars deep behind him.  Slick-top Charger slides behind numb-nuts, then turns on his reds and blues.  Constable gives the asshole Nissan an invite to a future meeting with the Justice of the Peace.  Karma, bitch!

I mentioned my boy has been doing jiu jitsu since July. He’s still on his white belt, but has moved up to go against kids with the next belt up.

I’m pleased that he’s doing well, but he’s not having as much now that he’s getting his butt kicked, instead of kicking butt.

That’s one of the beautiful things about sports. There’s always someone better, and you learn that it takes hard work to get better yourself. My son always got discouraged when he moved up a level in the many sports he played, and I never let him quit. The lessons he learned from that were invaluable, and he has a good work ethic now as an adult.

The boy's 12-year-old female friend confided in him that her teacher, Kaderabek, had added her on Snapchat and sent her messages that "made her feel uncomfortable." The boy then made his own Snapchat account and catfished the teacher by pretending to be a 14-year-old girl named 'Kate' by using photos he found on Pinterest. "Oh, so only four more years," the 6th-grade, South Dakota teacher allegedly said with a winky face.

One thing we know for sure. Mr. Kaderabek can do math.

My son has been bugging me since last week to start a brokerage account for him because "I'm going to buy 1 share of Google, 1 share of Apple, 1 share of Amazon, and 2 shares of VOO."

So we go to the bank on Saturday, but the bankers are fully booked.

He's disappointed, so I told him I'd give him $50. He said "No, it's okay, I don't want your money, I want to earn it."

This is right after he asked me for a big box of Pokemon cards for Christmas.

Just buy him one share of Berkshire Hathaway and be done with it.

A or B? Because I don't have $680K in change to buy him a share of A.

B. That earns you the invite to the shareholder meeting in Omaha, which is a truly special event. For a father/son weekend. I might even take my son this year if he can get leave.

No matter my portfolio, I never let my holdings of B fall below 1 share.

I skimmed about a 1/2 cup of beef fat from a soup I was making. Set it aside and let it congeal.

Instead of dumping it, my daughter and I made a tallow candle. It was a fun little project at 930PM. Not sure why so late, but I guess it was a good time giving each other shit about our lack of candle making skills.

First time in 7 or 8 years I hit the semiannual skin cancer quacking and got a zero... no surgery for at least another half year. Yippee kai yay, motherfuckers.

At lunch today a reasonably attractive looking lady around my age (50s) kept eyeing me and after about 20 minutes walked up to me, touched me on the arm, and said “you’re sexy as hell, why is it all the good guys like you are married?”

My prompt reply was “what makes you think I’m a good guy? What if I’m really an evil badass?”

Turns out she’s a rich widow and the holidays make her horny and lonely. Brenda, I hope you find true love and aren’t a serial killer.

Still good for the ego.

She hasn't been the same since the breakup with Eddie.

This year everyone of our closest friends got us a gift.  First year ever.  That means we have the privilege to buy all of them gifts as well!

Didn't Gwyneth Paltrow sell a version of that?

Surprisingly it doesn't smell meaty, or even smell at all. Kinda like a regular wax candle, but there's no waxy smell when you blow it out.

That was the 100% meat flap candle.

Smelled different.

That feeling when the scissors start to glide when cutting wrapping paper  . . .

Playing a VR game with my son (haptic suits and everything) and repeatedly shooting him in the nuts.

really good strawberry ice cream.

One of my hobbies is homemade ice cream. I use the old style hand-crank models. I try to get my chocolate to suspend in strawberry, so I use a cheese grater to flake a couple of semi-sweet chocolate bars and then mix that in my strawberry ingredients.
Pretty, pretty good.

Damn that sounds good. I need a new hobby! What is the model? My wife makes chocolate already and I grow strawberries. Now I just need a cow. Why not?

I prefer White Mountain four quart. I have a six quart that was a gift but the diameter is too large (that’s what she said!) and the ice cream in the middle doesn’t freeze. It’s my extra if needed.

Gracias. On it (that is also what she said).

Added to my post Christmas shit I did not get but wanted list. And that also makes me happy.

Putting “my wife” and “a cow” in adjoining sentences is not usually a recipe for long term marital success.

Put them in the same sentence and report back.

The look on my dogs face when we dump out his box of tennis balls on Christmas morning. He gets a box of 24 every year. Usually by November we are throwing pieces of them for him.

The lil shit smiles.
