I do regret this happening. In my world, law enforcement legally discharging their duties aren't harassed and this situation never happens. I can't imagine what mindset puts these people there. Smilin

Actually dug klippenstein's story out of it, https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/immigration-agents-terrified-by-ice.

Apparently, Bovino is responsible for the education on interference.

According to Klippenstein's sources, there's a split of enthusiasm for these missions as a whole, and the "surge" in Minnesota in particular. They're asking for volunteers for Minnesota because it's unpopular duty, but many worry that those that volunteer are probably a little too enthusiastic.

So where are all our resident fascists? Has Icono been sent back to Iran? Has Johnny Sack o' shit had a massive coronary from all this winning (or been murdered by his wife for being a misogynistic asshole)? They are awfully quiet.

So, Icono posts under the username @Macklemore but he refuses to actually tell the truth about his online persona.

Johnny Sack, as you know, was recently posting under the username, @Frank Drebin but decided at some point to switch it out. Anyway, he left the site about the time that people started quoting Charlie Kirk's own words to demonstrate what a shitbag he was in real life.

I tell ya, I don't get why some posters change their handles, thinking they're fooling anyone. It's as if they think others can't put two and two together, as if we're just robots powered by their imagination.

Bullshit. 30% of Americans are cheering this on, another 30% don't give a shit because it doesn't harm them and their indifference = support. This country is done for as a civilized democracy.

Apparently there was another shooting by a fed in Minneapolis. Not seeing a lot of details. Being reported by one station and the city government.

At 6:50 PM CT, federal law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted traffic stop in Minneapolis of an illegal alien from Venezuela who was released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022.

In an attempt to evade arrest, the subject fled the scene in his vehicle and crashed into a parked car. The subject then fled on foot.

The law enforcement officer caught up to the subject on foot and attempted to apprehend him when the subject began to resist and violently assault the officer. While the subject and law enforcement were in a struggle on the ground, two subjects came out of a nearby apartment and also attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.

As the officer was being ambushed and attacked by the two individuals, the original subject got loose and began striking the officer with a shovel or broom stick. Fearing for his life and safety as he was being ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired a defensive shot to defend his life. The initial subject was hit in the leg.

All three subjects ran back into the apartment and barricaded themselves inside.

The attacked officer and subject are both in the hospital. Both attackers are in custody.

This attack on another brave member of law enforcement took place while Minnesota’s top leaders, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey, are actively encouraging an organized resistance to ICE and federal law enforcement officers. Their hateful rhetoric and resistance against men and women who are simply trying to do their jobs must end. Federal law enforcement officers are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest criminals and lawbreakers.

Without video, I don't believe a single fucking thing they say.

But at least they are admitting that it's federal officers conducting traffic stops.

When birthright citizenship gets destroyed, I imagine that community will have significantly different opinions after getting systemically targeted by the fascists. It still blows my mind how much of the machismo Hispanic vote got sucked up by trump. He's gonna fuck all of them over, and has been for 12 months already

There is a wing of ICE that's actually doing legal police work. I come across it in my work (I'm a part time magistrate judge and I occasionally have to see people who have valid Federal warrants against them who get picked up for other charges).

But these jackbooted mall cops roaming the streets of Minneapolis (and whatever blue city they get sicced on next) ain't it. These are armed sociopaths, recruited off TV commercials to beat up on "others" of all kinds as part of Cheeto Fatfuck's personal Gestapo. Their Nuremberg is coming someday.

Thats a nice thought, but the Dems don't have the stomach for it. They're still too busy doing their best to ensure that citizens don't have the means to refresh the tree of liberty, all the while the laws they do pass primarily are used to put minorities in jail, put them in jail longer, or put them in jail when there are no other crimes that can be proven against them. They didn't even do squat about the Jan 6 riots which opened up the door to our capital to any foreign agents who might have wanted to wander into our top legislators' offices and browse their computers for intelligence because everybody in Washington is too old and stupid to lock their computer before leaving their office.

Live Updates: Trump Threatens Insurrection Act to Quash Minneapolis Protests

President Trump on Thursday threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to quell efforts to disrupt his immigration crackdown in Minneapolis. Tensions have risen in the city since a federal agent killed a woman there last week, with the administration doubling down on aggressive tactics that local officials say are meant to spread fear and provoke backlash.

Another shooting involving a federal agent on Wednesday evening touched off hours of clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers. A man from Venezuela who was in the country illegally was shot in the leg after resisting arrest, a federal spokeswoman said.

The president, who has previously threatened to invoke the 1807 act — which allows the use of the military on U.S. soil to quell an insurrection or invasion — said he would do so “if the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrections from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E.”

The administration has labeled Renee Good, 37, a mother and poet who was shot in her car last week by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, as a domestic terrorist. Local officials have rejected the federal interpretation of events, with demonstrators calling for the arrest and prosecution of the agent, Jonathan Ross — an unlikely outcome under federal law.

What Is the Insurrection Act of 1807?
Legal experts regard the act as a major exception to the law that generally forbids the use of the military for domestic law enforcement.

President Trump threatened on Thursday to invoke the Insurrection Act as protests in Minneapolis intensified after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent killed a woman last week.

Mr. Trump made the threat in a social media post, saying he would institute the act “if the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E.”

Mr. Trump has previously threatened to use the Insurrection Act of 1807, which comprises a group of statutes that give the president broad authority, under some conditions, to use the military for domestic law enforcement.

Last June, he also called demonstrators who clashed with National Guard troops in Los Angeles “insurrectionists,” a term that could have provided the rationale for invoking the statutes.

What is the Insurrection Act?
An early version of the Insurrection Act was first approved by Congress in 1792 to “provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions.” It has been amended several times in the centuries since.

Generally, the law gives the president the power to send military forces to states to quell widespread public unrest and to support civilian law enforcement. But before invoking it, the president must first call for the “insurgents” to disperse, according to a Congressional Research Service report published in 2006. If stability is not restored, the president may then issue an executive order to deploy troops.

The idea for the law was that there could be circumstances in which the local and state authorities were either unable or unwilling to maintain order, said Stephen I. Vladeck, a professor at Georgetown Law School. In those cases, the military would be the backstop.

What is its relationship to state governments?
The use of the military for civilian law enforcement has been restrained as part of the Constitution’s protections for civil liberties and state sovereignty. State governments maintain the authority to keep order within their borders, a power given to them under the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.

Generally, that law forbids the use of the military as a domestic police force.

But the Insurrection Act authorizes the president to use the military to suppress an insurrection if a state government requests it. And there is some leeway in the president’s discretion, such as whether the commander in chief considers that the unrest is obstructing laws of the United States.

What are previous examples of its use?
The last time that the act was used was in 1992, when riots in Los Angeles broke out after four white police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King, a Black motorist. Armed forces have also been used to quell civil disturbances after natural disasters, as with widespread looting in St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, after Hurricane Hugo in 1989, according to the Congressional Research Service report.

These statutes were used regularly throughout U.S. history, Professor Vladeck told The New York Times in 2020, as protests erupted across the United States after the death of George Floyd.

The statutes, he said, were employed in conflicts with Native Americans along the 19th-century frontier; during industrial strife in the late 19th century and the early 20th century; and to enforce federal court orders requiring desegregation during the civil rights movement.

Politics also played a role in whether presidents used the act, Professor Vladeck said. “The Insurrection Act hasn’t been invoked since 1992 — largely because domestic use of the military is generally unpopular,” he wrote on Twitter, now X, in 2020.

Could the president’s use of the Insurrection Act be opposed?
Originally, the statutes set clearer limitations, like a sunset provision for the use of military forces, and a required judicial review, Professor Vladeck said.

But after those provisions were repealed, it became “somewhat unclear how an abuse of the statute could be reined in,” he said.

“We’ve been lucky, historically, that political considerations have prevented presidents from abusing these authorities,” he said.

Y'all understand that the regime fully intends not to have any federal elections in November, right? They keep telling you that, and they keep telling you the tools they are going to deploy to do so. You should believe them.
