It's rarely about hustle with this team.  They just play stupid and a lot of them just aren't very good.  We are relying on a guy like Larry to create and score.  Shedrick plays hard but just gets bullied night after night.

You're not wrong, those flaws are plain as day.

My point is we also have no urgency and teams can out play us in cruise control

All of which falls on the coach of course

I don't recall a harder texas team to watch.  Even Shaka teams were far easier to root for.

i’m behind in my dvr- did we just skip the u8 timeout?

Good adjustment on Carey the last 7-8 minutes after he was Dennis Rodman the first 12 minutes.

They took it on the review that ended up a flagrant.  Around 8:15

Four point lead at half.  I will take it.

At one point there I was hoping to just be within 5 points at the half

Shedrick has played so much harder and tougher the last 2-3 weeks.

Been a welcome sight.

Good offensive adjustments for Texas so far in the second half. Gotta give the coaches props there.

What’s the deal with this court? Why are the cheerleaders on the sidelines and the benches on the baselines?

larry has needed to be in the starting lineup for weeks, i’ve been posting as much, he’s our best play maker.

It's an elevated court and the orientation of the gym is weird. Memorial Gymnasium is a very old building and they've just retrofitted it as best as possible. It's just the solution they came up with given the odd dimensions to work with. However, it was a fun place to watch games as a grad student. There's an entire student section that's under this weird overhang. The sound just sits there. Makes for an interesting and exciting in-person experience. Honestly, the entire layout of their athletic facilities has become an interesting sight as they've expanded. For example, they've connected the facades of their baseball stadium and football stadium, as well as the baseball stadium and Memorial Gymnasium, as the venues have expanded. They have a mini-monster in L field of Hawkins Field because it butts up with Memorial.

TL;DR - It's old AF and very space constrained. As it has been expanded, it just became more unique.

i don’t recall seeing us look this confident and this sharp at any point this year. our guys are playing with aggression and swagger.

These threads always amuse me.

Players suck, coach can't coach...

Players are balling! I can't believe it.

I think that is every basketball game ever.

I watched my son's jv game last night... Team up by 14 at half... Blew it because there was a lid on the basket in 2nd half (made me think something was off with that goal, because neither team could score on it.)

I thought about this forum and what the reaction would be... Coach would be fired (she got a tech during Q4) and the best players would be dogs for missing everything from layups to free throws.

Won by 2 in OT. Fire everyone.

I’ve got two little kids running around. I’m not paying a lot of attention to the commentators yapping if that’s what you mean

i’m very much enjoying this game. both teams are really going at it, and unlike the arkansas game our guys are giving just as much as they’re getting. this is the version of the team that we need to see consistently in order for RT to save his job. if we could play with this aggression and confidence (and again, not to mention swagger) every game out then i don’t think anyone here would have a problem retaining RT. it’s when you have one game like this and then a brain dead, spiritless performance like the one against arkansas that you’re too inconsistent to be kept on.

but fuck it, we’re playing this way today, so let’s get this win! 🤘🏼

He meant Vanderbilt has had this court for decades and it’s unclear why you’re questioning their court setup in the year of our Lord, 2025, when this has been the case for Vanderbilt for forever.

The ball needs to be in Tre's hands because they're  over-helping when they don't lose him. Other guys are getting wide open when they hedge 2 or 3 guys at him.

Sounds like you need to fire your son if he blew a 14-point lead. Just my opinion, though.

When exactly have we played at Vanderbilt before?
