Definitely had his idiosyncrasies, but the GOP started to lose me when they tried to excommunicate him.

RIP, sir.

Also, I am a bit leery of poltiical dynasties, but the McCain family has served this country well (most not politically).

RIP to an American hero. I disagreed with him a lot more often then I agreed with him but I never doubted his patriotism. He was a faithful servant of his country to the end and will be missed.

Wow...that was quick.  RIP Senator McCain.  Thank you for your dedication and service to our country. A great American.

I never doubted his patriotism. And that’s about as American as one can be. RIP

I didn’t vote for him, but I shall miss his voice. That he loved this country more than he loved himself cannot be doubted. He was a great American, and I hope he finds peace in what comes after.

A great American hero has passed.

I am pleasantly surprised that this thread hasn't gone to hell yet.

But it will.

and to those of us who think sides are killing our country - he was also a great example.

at least he had some balls. and had moments where he went against what the establishment had in mind for him. the number of fools in DC who can actually do that is dwindling daily.

RIP

My grandfather (lifelong politician) always said JM was one of the meanest SOB’s he ever met. He liked that about him.

RIP
