If it is the incel son that shot up festival that feels like a lazy finish. Irony will be if it ends up being McKays fault for calling cops that activated that kid to act.

This is great show but Robbie benching Langdon and sending Collins home is going to bite him on ass during this event.

Was the child aborted Robbie’s?

So you want to know the benefits of a c section?  Watch that horror show.  That hoohah got ruined forever.  A dude would need to use that esophageal balloon contraption they used .   Or a leg.

Lolwut? That's not how vaginas work, junior.

I've banged women who've squirted out several children, and never noticed a difference.

Probably because I'm packing a fat hog leg.

My wife had c section and I’ve been glad my big headed son didn’t pass thru it whether that’s reality or not.   That one had a big headed baby and an arm up in there hence my comment.

Years ago I was working as a merchant I got an urgent call from a district manager.   His wife was in labor with their 6th kid, and all weighed over 10 lbs at birth.  “What’s our best deal on a Sony XBR big screen?.  I told the dr I’d give him a big screen if he’d tighten that thing up with a few extra stitches.”

I'm kind of worried about that too. Seems too clean and coincidental.  Of course these guys are all network TV vets, so that may be seeping in a little.

Also, unless next season is 15 hours of Dr Robby in a therapist chair, I don't know how he would come back from that.

"I see hair!"

Everyone looks at her.

"Baby hair."

Lulz.

i don't know shit about fuck when it comes to er shifts, but they make it seem like everyone comes on at the same time and works a 12-hour shift then leaves together like a fucking casino. wouldn't they have to stagger it a little so they're not in the middle of procedures when everybody's shift ends and a bunch of new people come storming in? and yes, what you said was kinda my point - sending 2 doctors home leading up the shift change would seem to bite him in the ass most days even without a "multiple gsw" scenario.

Incredible episode.  Masterful writing, acting, directing, and stagecraft.  Wow I can’t imagine how that worked managing so much chaos.
Cant wait for the next episodes.

That was fucking greatness. Glad to see Hatosy back.

Outfuckingstanding. This is the level of television HBO used to do.

HBO: "Oh shit, we can't have that. Cancel it."

Show should sweep everything. Wylie, Dana, Mel, McKay great acting

Nobody is that good, but I enjoy the shit out of the show anyways.

Yeah many of the procedures are over the top but the pacing and character interactions are amazing. Also the US use for real time diagnoses is amazing to me and makes me realize I am a dinosaur. Dr Robby just continuously pushing bad shit down to soldier on is how it is

I started my clinicals as an MS3 the summer ER debuted. I was on my surgical rotation at Parkland on the trauma team when the pilot aired so MS John Carter was like a kindred spirit, and I feel like Dr Robby is really Carter all grown up.

The ER residency at UTSW had started that year and there were crazy turf battles. The trauma ER Pit Boss was the 2nd year surgical resident  on call for trauma and they basically ignored the ER attendings. Was wild

Like the show but that episode felt WAY overwrought.  I mean it's fiction and they've already established more is going on there in 12h than pretty much anywhere else, ever.  But one loser incel did all that?  That looked more like the result of a coordinated terror attack.  They got no other hospitals in the city?

edit: The warning for this ep was Coarse Language

Also was strange how often they showed the baby coming out of the vag the previous episode.  We get it.

The show is a 12/10 on the medical stuff and an eye rolling 2/10 on the everything else.

Maybe but I just looked and the Vegas shooting at the music festival was 60 dead and over 400 injured, increasing to over 800 if you include people injured in the ensuing panic (the show had some of those injuries). That’s a ton of people to run through a hospital in a short time. What they showed doesn’t seem too crazy.

They did say the majority were coming to them, so some are going to other hospitals. They’re just closest so naturally in a rush as non-emergency vehicles are bringing people in, they’re just going to the closest hospital.

Can’t defend the baby and the vag.

Nothing to defend about the childbirth. Yes, they take some liberties on some medical things. Nobody signed up to watch a documentary.

No CR but the Vegas shooting is...an outlier, at the very least, and even taken at face value, which is nearly impossible, very different from a teen with a stolen gun shooting up a concert.

I missed the part where the incel kid shot up the Pittfest.

Oh, now I remember.  We don't know that he did.

The shooter is going to be the guy who punched the nurse.

If you are level one and the closest to a mass casualty event you are going to get the majority of ambulances and life flight and ALL the private car injured (Robby mentioned that). Minutes are lives in those scenarios and the system isn’t set up to triage amongst level one centers in the moment

I didn’t keep a count but not that many went to peds (the makeshift morgue) so a lot needing critical and urgent care. El Paso shooting was about 50 total with 23 dead ultimately, not sure how many made it to triage.

I believe they were up to 16 ORs running and turning over by end of episode with capacity for 25 so they were treading water from staffing standpoint but running out of supplies (and blood and blood products)

One high capacity AR plus a stampede could easily account for what was shown imo

Any semi-auto with lots of ammo. I never heard a caliber mentioned. They are pushing the kid and sucker punch guy, but I bet it's someone not mentioned yet.

gonna be an interesting year for drama awards, considering severance, white lotus, and the pitt (so far) should all be in the mix.

It's very accurate. When the Dr says We are a MASH unit now gave the following scenes all the credence they needed.

Episode 13 did. It disappoint. Dr. Abbott’s character and the actor’s performance has become, for some reason, my favorite currently.

Edited.

Another excellent episode. Shocked the cops didn't shoot the kid when he bolted.

It was a great episode but not e12 but I think Pope would have pushed back harder on Robby’s continuing effort on the girlfriend with an exploded heart. Waste of blood, time, and resources.  I really don’t like the semistepson.  Didn’t before the concert didn’t after.

looks like Santos is going to make her bones after all.  It’s sometimes hard to remember this is all one day, and the rookies are all learning on the fly.

Santos has to get a comeuppance at some point.

Jake should have been punched in the solar plexus

So is tonight's episode the final of the season?

I hope it's someone we don't know. Otherwise feels kinda trite like everything cycles through that ER. I think it's a better theme if we see that sometimes really random terrible shit happens and people have to find a way through it.

Helluva show and I don't really like hospital dramas. Can't imagine the staging it takes to shoot all that.

I remember when ER was being debuted and the big hype was the never before seen medical realism right down to the tile in the Trauma Room and showing realistic (sometimes actual) procedures. This is leaps beyond.

No, one more week after tonight.

So one hour left.  I didn’t like Robby now siding with the wacko kid.  McKay did the right thing calling the cops.  He needs to be locked up.  Just because he’s not the shooter doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to kill the girls on his list.
