Having only seen them play once this season I can confirm they are shitty. Hope they turn it around.

It will suck the most for ISU since their fans will show up and find out that they don’t field a baseball team.

Next stop for the Valley Boys: Austin! Should be fun. My boy scored the winning run to run rule SFA today, 12-2. Didn’t play at all for the entire game, got a chance to pinch run for Armani and made i

Cal up 3-0 in the 4th over Virginia in Berkeley.  ESPN rolling with the single press box camera it looks like.

ESPN rolls usually with whatever setup the home team provides. They will provide more for a national broadcast on an ESPN channel.

Stanford has had the same crappy stream for over 20 years. They usually have students for announcers.

They were a baseball power for years and have all the money in the world.

It should be an embarrassment to them.

Most baseball big time schools have fixed camera sites in place and it's no big deal.

Just get some announcers or use the home team radio feed.

This too, all of it is an embarrassment.

The Stanford radio feed is student driven as well, it's delightful. Iowa also has student play play crew, Nebraska does Big Red radio which is pretty slick and close to mainstream college. You know who doesn't do college radio.  Washington.

2 run bomb and Stanford is up 6-1 on Duke, looking to win the series today.

Maybe joining the ACC will juice Cal and Stanford's rpi enough to help revitalize west coast baseball

Wake leaves the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, going to extras in Game 1 of a DH against Miami.

A classic Big XII matchup is just starting on espn+, Cincy at Zona.  Zona are wearing sweet baby blue pants and jerseys with red caps and trim.  Looks like Ozzie Smith, Vince Coleman, Willie McGee, and Tommy Herr out there.

Sasaki with his first two HR today, including the walk off HR to make it a run rule

#1 RPI UTRGV stays undefeated in Southland Conference play. Comes back from down 8-3 to eventually walk it off in the 13th. Best start since 1979.

Same here.  I still call the school Pan American just like I call TAMUK up the road A&I and at times still call Texas State , SWT even though one of mine is currently attending school there.     We are olds…..

Sorry, but Tennessee somehow passed them... What a traveshemockery!

I wonder what Alabama has done lately to vault so much?

Louisville takes 2/3 from #6 North Carolina this weekend.

#2 Tennessee sweeps #7 Florida

Oklahoma State and West Virginia were only able to play one this weekend, a 8-6 WVU win.

Texas should move up two spots in D1 poll

Texas Tech also sweeps Houston to give their lifeless season some life

RPI through the weekend

https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d1/rpi

Tennessee up to #1

My beloved UTRGV falls to #2 despite remaining undefeated in conference play

Notre Dame BIG movers from 24 up to 3 after losing 2/3 away to Clemson? Color me confused, they have a loss to North Florida, were swept by Wake Forest, and lost 2/3 to Clemson

Texas up to 10

Other notables:

LSU up to 58 from 74

Miss St at 85

A&M up to 118 from 142

Wow, UVA down at 122

Texas St at 175 (makes that A&M loss seem even more embarrassing)

SEC bottom dweller is Mizzou at #222 up from #247

SEC has 5 of the top 10 and 11 of the top 25

My buddy that's the skipper at Georgia State has them at 15-6 and 3-0 in conference. Up to 81 in the RPI after a pretty weak non conference weekend slate.  They've played Georgia twice and blown 4 run leads in the 6th inning both times to get whopped.  The difference in bullpen, especially in middle relief, is pretty big.  They also lost a game to Georgia Tech in the 9th inning. Other than that clubbing baby seals and now sweeping South Alabama to open conference.

Sun belt looks like a 4 bid league- with 5 maybe slightly more likely than 3 to my eyes. I think they are better than the big 12 and big 10. Not 100% positive on that but somewhere between 3-5 in baseball as hardest conference.  Adding Coastal Carolina and Southern Miss in the last couple years have moved the Sun Belt from a mid major to a high major (clearly way behind SEC and ACC) but on par or better than anyone else imo conference wise.

Good spot for him. At least get Rice back to making the postseason. Then they can send Rice to Austin so we can beat them

He needs to not jump to the next job after Rice...  Tulane was a good gig too...

A&M dropped out of all polls.

It's time for these cowards to rank UTRGV, yeah I said it! The one person they are receiving a vote from obviously knows what's up.

I for one welcome our Vaquero overlords...

(have I done this joke this year already?)

Good for him.  Hopefully he gets the support there he needs to make Rice baseball respectable again.

Wow… Pierce is taking over immediately, going to be coaching this weekend against Florida Atlantic. At 4-16 it can’t get much worse and at least lets him get a first hand look at just how bad it is

He's coaching their next game.

Is there precedent for this? I don’t remember an external hire in college sports starting in the middle of a season before.

It'll be when they are the 4 seed here in Austin.

You mean the team that is 8-11 overall and 0-3 in conference.

That just got swept by App State, which included a run rule game.

They are 2-1 since letting Cruz go, and I did not say which year.

Oh, you're talking about the 4-16 Rice team.

How long is the Earth going to be around?

These last few posts are very confusing to say the least.

I do know that the combined records of the two teams in question are 12-27.

Rice has all the conference games left. Pierce has had a history of taking guys named joe and motivating them beyond what they should be able to accomplish. It'll be fun to watch.

Yep, lot of chances to lose more.

I don't think it's Aggy anymore.

Five losses in a row, two by run rule, the one mentioned by App State and the mighty Campbell Camels, who are also 8-11.
