February 27Feb 27 details seem strange. https://variety.com/2025/film/obituaries-people-news/gene-hackman-dead-wife-discovered-french-connection-unforgiven-1236322100/ my team’s on the floor. rip lex, popeye, norman.
February 27Feb 27 Aww man this sucks. He was great at his craft, but seemed like a good guy as well. Rest in peace Mr. Hackman.
February 27Feb 27 Damn fine actor. Some of his film weren't great, but he was great in them. Quote Hackman was 95. Arakawa was 63. Edited February 27Feb 27 by RPM
February 27Feb 27 Had a damn good run but this sucks will always be Reverend Scott to me. RIP, Legend.
February 27Feb 27 So help me god I don’t think anybody snapped a chest pass like him. I bet John Stockton watched that and learned something.
February 27Feb 27 RIP. He was great in everything. On CBS and BBC they’ve run through a bunch of his films but they haven’t mentioned Mississippi Burning. That’s one of my faves.
February 27Feb 27 He never disappointed. Sad to read how he chose to ring down the old curtain with team wackezoid. In so much quality work The Conversation was my favorite. That little insincere chuckle appeared in every role. “Men, there’s trouble in Russia . . . .” What else is new?
February 27Feb 27 I also liked Hackman in A Bridge Too Far. That was a great war epic with a ton of legendary stars in it.
February 27Feb 27 Popular Post god fucking dammit gonna light up a cigar this weekend for you my G legend
February 27Feb 27 The man brought out the best in Jimmy Chitwood and Shane Falco. Rest in peace, Mr. Hackman.

Also thought he did well with Little BIll, in making him a very hateable character in Unforgiven. Of course also loved Norman Dale, with my favorite scene being his chat in the vacant lot with Jimmy Chitwood, in which for a minute and a half Jimmy continually sinks shots until Coach Dale tells him he doesn't need him on the team, after which Dale walks off and Jimmy clanks one. Only YT video I found was Italian...LOL. RIP Gene. Semper Fidelis! Edited February 27Feb 27 by Iceman
February 27Feb 27 Hackman, wife and dog found dead "Hoosiers is one of my favorite movies, RIP big guy"
February 27Feb 27 Came to post this. He was so fantastic. RIPJust a bunch of kids in animal costumes.
February 27Feb 27 Legend. He made bad movies worthwhile, good movies great, and great movies iconic. The Conversation is a masterclass in acting.I'm sure others have read about how he thought that Hoosiers was garbage during the production & how he told Hopper it would end their careers. He was as shocked as could be at the final product.

His performance in Mississippi Burning is one of my favorites. And his roles in The Firm and No Way Out were also very underrated.
February 27Feb 27 I’ve always had a problem with suspension of disbelief. I did not have that issue with Gene Hackman. He was outstanding in every role I ever saw him in. RIP to one of the best.

February 27Feb 27 Crimson Tide might be my favorite role of his. The Conversation, too. Just watched him in No Way Out over the weekend. And saw The Poseidon Adventure for the first time not too long ago.
February 27Feb 27 Saw the headline, first thought was murder suicide. Article says no foul play, so gas leak or carbon monoxide? That would explain the dog. Saw the cult thing above so suicide pact? Would be shitty to take out the dog with them, but looked on wiki and the cult post above wasn’t there and google didn’t show anything. So it has to be gas or carbon monoxide right? I guess it could be suicide pact for non cult reasons, would still be shitty to take the dog out too. I’m not a big film buff, he’s one of those actors that I know I’ve seen many times but the one that really comes to mind is The Replacements, lol, I’m basic af I guess. February 27Feb 27 Don't sleep on how fucking funny he was in Get Shorty. Harry Zimm was such a clown, but he played it so sincerely you believed he didn't know how much of a dumb schmuck he really was.
