Timing is back up, & it looks like a video game from 1998. WTF?

i think fox has been doing the cartoony driver headshots for a bit. but i don't really watch nascar much so couldn't tell you.

directv stream is compressing the shit out of this and it looks like garbage. fox much cleaner.

palou with the great strategy call to put him in the lead after the final round of stops, and putting some space between him and newgarden and dixon battling behind him. looks like he's missing a big chunk of the front right wing, though.

ganassi 1-2 as newgarden burns up his tires and fuel trying to catch palou, allowing dixon to pass him on the back stretch with just a couple corners to go

Chip has had a great career as an IndyCar owner. His office is not far from my house and it’s cool to see the trophies and cars he has displayed in the lobby.

I’ve always rooted for Dixon. One year, when my brother was still living in Taiwan, we were planning a trip to go by caravan through New Zealand and I was just finishing up a story on Dixon/Chip and Dixon invited us to stay at his place. Unfortunately the trip never took place as life got in the way.

It's been a while since I had that much exposure to Will Buxton, but his voice sounded very different to me than I remembered.

Am I imagining things, or has anyone else noticed a difference?

Fox lost the broadcast, showed about 10 minutes of ads, went to NASCAR, more ads, then a moment of indycar without sound, then more ads and now back to NASCAR

Serious question - does Will Buxton have some kind of a speech impediment? I know that some people are able to overcome a stutter by "singing" rather than speaking, so I'm wondering if there's some other explanation for all of the misplaced pregnant pauses, the declarative, superlative-laden shouting, and the overall unpleasant vocal arrhythmia.

I feel like he has somehow become a caricature of himself in the years since he was involved with F1. A Vitale-ization, if you will.

The Palou/Lundgaard slicing and dicing was phenomenal.

Palou has stolen Dixon's wizard cap in my view.

palou is definitely a wizard. i'd love to see what that guy could do in mclaren's F1 car, but he was probably correct in that lando and oscar were already the drivers so he wasn't going to get a shot.

dixon still a wizard on race day but he sure as shit can't qualify. made up ~25 positions in the last two races.

palou is going to have the championship locked up by july 4 at this rate

Scary moment here with Colton Herta. He would get of the car and walk away on his own 🙏

FOX has no fucking idea how to efficiently use space within the on-screen graphics.

Giant cartoon picture of the driver isn't more helpful than the cut-line info for what we're doing right now, idiots.

Reasonable enough explanation from Tim Cindric.

Lots of A&M commercials airing here in Chicago during this broadcast.

Getting aggy commercials earlier.

What a mistake by Veekay's team

I get the reasoning - kind of an unwinnable situation no matter what he did. I would rather go down swinging than just sit by and get bumped, but I am not an engineer and I don't know the full scope of risk related to the heat sink issues...

Roger making a pretty bold public response to the infractions - fired team president Tim Cindric, managing director Ron Ruzewski, and general manager Kyle Moyer.
