Former Arizona QB Brandon Dawkins grad transfers to Indiana then transfers after not winning the job and taking a grand total of 0 classes at Indiana.

BLOOMINGTON – Less than a week after coach Tom Allen announced Peyton Ramsey would be IU's starting quarterback this season, fellow signal caller Brandon Dawkins has elected to leave the program, per a source close to the program.

Dawkins arrived in Bloomington this summer as a grad transfer from Arizona.

It's not clear whether Dawkins intends to transfer to another college program. His departure left the Hoosiers with just two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster: Ramsey and true freshman Michael Penix, who enrolled in January. However, on Monday, Allen said true freshman Reese Taylor, who won IndyStar Mr. Football last season at quarterback for undefeated state champion Ben Davis, will move back to the QBs room after spending time in fall camp with the defensive backs.

Wilton Speight will likely be our starter Saturday.  We shall see.

Same thing happened with Jeff George Jr. at Michigan...although if he couldn't start at Illinois, he should have known he wouldn't beat out Shea Patterson.

As a Michigan alum, I wish you godspeed.

He is not our long term answer.  Dorian Thompson-Robinson (true FR) will probably be starting by midseason.
