March 4Mar 4 Need a down low phone so my wife can’t see it. Kidding, it’s for my kids (16 and 14) for when they get grounded. The 14 yo lost his phone today for a week, and we don’t have a land line. Seeing if any of yall have done this or similar. I see a few for 25ish bucks on Walmart’s website, but I do require a WiFi connection since my house is out of the city limits and bad connection on the big 3 networks, as in unusable inside my house.
March 4Mar 4 Why would they need a phone at home? Do you not have an iPad that you can just call if you aren't home? Why are you leaving 14 year olds home alone when grounded? If you have a sim card it's easy to get dumb phones for them and switch the sim if you don't have Sims this is pretty much impossible. Most new phones have ESIM.

One time I picked up my daughter’s phone to make a quick call since it was within arm’s reach. I couldn’t find the phone icon, so I asked her where it was. She said she buried it in a folder, didn’t know where it was and I would have to use the search feature to find it. Honestly I kinda look at you as a Martian with all that emoji random number stuff in the post, can’t blame em.

I did not know magic jack was still a thing. [emoji1787] that may be a good idea.

It turned out he had a late baseball game on a Tuesday that I wasn't aware of and well he was at school until midnight. I didn't notice his absence until I was going to bed. Long story short, he survived without a phone and he was prepared to sleep under a tree on campus until the next day. That's some Gen-X shit.

A ranch to the right side and an empty FM road on the left. Realistically, he should have used the phone in the field house afterwards but I suspect he wanted to prove a point that he needed his cell. He just didn't expect to be forgotten for so long. lulz
