“ Potentially historic group sex between Gator and Victoria’s Secret models Wednesday” does not mean it will absolutely happen, it just means that it could

I have almost half a day left.

next few days the winds return. Yay?

Well, I’m sure that Texans self-restrict barbecuing when dry wind is blowing.

Makes me wonder how g-ma never burned down half of west Texas with her old burn-barrel she kept out behind the house.

And again, after last year’s Smokehouse Creek fire that killed a Fritch fireman and a civilian, the state finally decided they were all in. Since November of last year there have been state assets, both ground and air, pre-positioned in high hazard areas so that in the event something kicks off we can get ahead of it before it becomes too much.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go scrub myself with a bar of Lava soap and a bottle of Gojo.

Big Bend National Park’s Fire Management program has benefited for three decades from the assistance of Mexican nationals who live in the tiny villages immediately across the Rio Grande from the park.

Los Diablos are annually supported by the National Park Service and the Fire Management Program at Big Bend National Park. The National Park Service provides annual wildland firefighting training and ensures that each member is ready for duty. They have responded to wildland fire emergencies in the USA since 1990. They regularly participate in prescribed burns and other fuel management activities in Big Bend. They have also responded to hurricane disasters.

Assuming they haven't been DOGE'ed.

Herbie, I'm glad the state is going all in on this stuff, because with the DOGE nonsense, and with the layoffs/budget cuts to National Park Service and US Forest Service, we could very well be on our own - as of a week or so ago, they apparently cut a bunch of USFS folks in Texas and surrounding areas who coordinate state and national assets in the event of large fires.  The folks who, when shit hits the fan, they know all of the right people to get assets moved quickly, whether it's Hot Shot teams in Arizona or California or the larger aircraft out of Canada, etc. They cut one entire group who handles a lot of this (high school classmate's husband was in it) and didn't leave anybody around to do this stuff.

So aggy Forestry Service better have their shit together if we have any large fires this year, and I wouldn't count on Los Diablos.
