March 5Mar 5 Picked up Paramount Plus to watch Champions League games or something. This will give me another reason to continue it.

March 5Mar 5 Would be cool if it Hardy was doing his Handsome Bob character that grew up passed being just the driver for the Wild Bunch.
March 30Mar 30 Author I think I detected a bit of a Bricktop impersonation in the first episode. But this thing looks to have potential.
April 1Apr 1 Very good 1st episode. Brosnan is believable as the patriarch of a mob family, Hardy is excellent in his role as an enforcer/fixer and Mirren provided some laughs as a hard core gangsta grandma.

April 2Apr 2 Does anyone else have issues with P+ streaming. I've cancelled and re-upped a couple of times with no luck. It freezes and skips. I hate it

April 2Apr 2 It's Taylor Sheridan: London, but I enjoyed it. It appears to be less over the top than Gangs of London which I enjoyed. Gangs of London made London seem like Caracas with nicer cloths and cars.
April 2Apr 2 I liked the pilot but Spoiler Pierce Brosnan shooting his life long best friend in the heart in front of his entire family because his wife had a hunch was some Sheridan-esque plot leap bullshit/dramatics. Edited April 2Apr 2 by billfromlaketravis
April 2Apr 2 The show was originally developed as Ray Donovan: London. Thank goodness that didn’t happen. You can for sure draw parallels between Tom Hardy’s character and Ray Donovan. I’m sure Moody’s was a holdover. Ray and his dumb ass boring brothers would meet in a boxing gym in the original show.

Have you never watched a Guy Ritchie movie before? The boxing ring stuff is nothing new for him.

April 9Apr 9 If you're not watching this, you should. it's about to get really interesting. just wish i could binge watch this.

Obviously Spencer would have repelled those attackers in 15-20 seconds factoring in the multiple automatic weapons versus the revolvers and shotguns in the 1923 scene.

It's funny how for a long time now, shows and movies aren't allowed to have passive or overly emotional mob wives. It's always, "the twist is the wife is actually the smart/savvy/ruthless one!" So much so that it's actually become cliche.

April 14Apr 14 Is Maeve sort of a bitch? I think it’s worth a discussion. - Hates her husband’s illegitimate child. - Not only forgives Eddie, she celebrates his senseless murder of another kid. - Wants to murder wives now. - Planted the Archie rumors without much, possibly any, evidence. - Provides piss poor advice to Conrad.
April 15Apr 15 yeah, she's a queen bitch, quite the difference from 1923 lol this show is really fast-paced, i like it. do we know if Bella and Harry have actually had an affair in the past, or does she just want to and so keeps making passes?

April 15Apr 15 I keep waiting for Tom Hardy to roll his eyes and say "for fuck sake" each time a new problem arises that he needs to clean up. Exhausting. and the irony is the half sister, Seraphina, is the most put together of the Harringons - although Paddy seems like a generally level headed guy. i thought the actor who plays Richie did a good acting job with his response to his son's death.
April 15Apr 15 Spoiler I hope it’s not the case, but H as the rat would be an interesting twist. Hey, it worked in Eastern Promises.
April 15Apr 15 Hot take..... Maeve is the "grass" and is working some sort of revenge angle on Brosnan and the family. Someone tipped them to where that dude's body was buried. Also, I'm not sure the grandkid did the murder unless I nodded off in the first episode. He hasn't admitted it fully yet, right?

He hasn't admitted it fully yet, right? that whole thing was not handled well. they kept introducing new people every 3 minutes in the pilot and then in ep2 reference some disappearance-assumed-murder. the wife and i were like "were we drunk? did we miss a murder?" but not so worried that we actually went back to investigate. this show is not quite guy ritchie enough for me yet, but i'll keep going. if they wanted me to care about the feud between the 2 families, they should've opened with that, not two random crime orgs that were about to get wiped out just to show that hardy's bunch were ruthless and now there's a vacuum in the fentanyl trade.
April 20Apr 20 It's entertaining enough, I guess, but the fact that it's hard to tell whether it's supposed to be perfectly obvious that Maeve is the grass, or if they're trying to set it up to be a big twist, or if they're trying to set us up for a big fakeout that she isn't the grass just amounts to annoyingly ambiguous writing. The fact that it requires subtitles is a problem for us. Mrs. Doom invariably falls asleep much more quickly than otherwise when subtitles are involved. We seem to be averaging just 15 minutes of watching this show on a quick night, and 35 on the long side. I'll keep watching because Tom Hardy could make reading the phone book entertaining, but I feel like this show could end up being anything between a solid A and a low F when it's all done. April 20Apr 20 I don't turn the subtitles on, because it distracts me. It has crossed my mind that the subtitles might be more confusing than just listening if they spelled things the way the speak. Just finished Ep2. Very intense. Like others, keep waiting for Harry to go off on someone. Motherfucker is gonna pay for threatening Harry's family though. That was written in stone when shithead thought he was putting the weight on his head, while Harry is unarmed in a den of fucking thugs. Edited April 20Apr 20 by Iceman

April 24Apr 24 Harry's wife drives me crazy. He moves them to the boat for safety and when he returns gets peppered with questions, "Where were you? Who were you with? Where did you sleep? What did you do?" Then when he tells her, she scolds him "I told you never to tell me what you do." WTF woman? You can't have it both ways. Edited April 24Apr 24 by RPM
April 24Apr 24 that was a very breezy 48 minutes. It always ends with me wishing for more, so I guess that is a good thing. The tension was palpable in the scene with Conrad and Harry's wife. i love after Harry discussed his last 48 hours with the wife, he added " oh yeah i got the housekeeper's mom into the retirement home." the young Kevin in the prison flashbacks looks nothing like old Kevin. Very distracting (for me)
April 26Apr 26 The biggest twist so far for me is that Harry wasn't on speakerphone with Richie Stevenson holding a gun to his (or his daughter's) head during the whole celebratory "he bought it" business.
April 27Apr 27 The latest episode is pretty great. Y’all will enjoy it. Edited April 27Apr 27 by billfromlaketravis
April 28Apr 28 I think I just lost interest in this sort of TV. 20 years ago I would have liked this, but now it just seems too ridiculous and cliche to keep my interest. It started with the trailer. Over the top cliche use of a played out rolling Stones song? That was the first strike. This show feels like it's been done 3 dozen times before in the last 30 years.
