August 28, 20187 yr Asking for a friend. Pretty sure this friend has a raccoon or possum visiting their yard each night to munch on foliage. What does one do with a raccoon or possum inside the Austin city limits if you trap it in a live trap? Austin being Austin, Animal Control will just reintroduce it into the neighborhood as its been shown to be able to survive there, and they can't guarantee it will elsewhere. So options: Trashcan of water, drive out of town and release on some country road, call a dude, electrify the trap and watch your fence burst into flames? TIA.
August 28, 20187 yr Leave the possums alone. They don't bother anyone and actually are good to have around. Kill the damn racoons.
August 28, 20187 yr When raccoons tried to get on our back porch, Mama just chased 'em off with a broom.

August 28, 20187 yr You need to taste the scat. Opossums have a copper taste and raccoons are more like iron. Then you'll know how to proceed. Both are good eatin' but raccoons are a PITA to deal with.
August 28, 20187 yr Rub peanut butter on your giblets and hang them out the door at night. When they come in for a nibble whack them on the head with a 2.5 pound sledge.

August 29, 20187 yr Unless you have one of those transformer type varmints, coons and possums should look different from each other. See if you can get a picture of it and compare it to photos on the web.
August 29, 20187 yr Just leave a bowl of anti-freeze, or Coke spiked with golden malrin outside. Trash pandas can't resist.
September 4, 20187 yr Duke dogproof coon trap. They are badass! I highly recommend. Disposal is up to you. But just so you know..their leg is whats trapped. They are a flopping around- pissed off ball of fur when you get near them. Air rifle, pellet gun, or arrow would be my choice if you are in a city neighborhood. Out in the sticks...whatever your heart desires. Haaaa Sent from my SM-J727T using Tapatalk
September 4, 20187 yr If its foliage thats being eaten then its probably not a coon or a possum. I would think more along the lines of a deer or rabbit. Might think about putting out a game cam to see what it is. Sent from my SM-J727T using Tapatalk
September 4, 20187 yr I have a damn armadillo fucking up my yard and flower beds. Don't want to kill it or trap it. What are my options?

I can set 6 traps with sardines and all 6 will have a coon the next morning. Made Raccoon Green Chile Enchiladas with it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

September 5, 20187 yr I have a damn armadillo fucking up my yard and flower beds.Don't they eat grubs n shit? I would go nuclear with Triazicide once a month to kill the bugs.

I threw out a box of moth balls last night because supposedly they do not like the smell, and boy do they smell. If that doesn't work I will give your suggestion a try.
September 6, 20187 yr BTW, by "once a month" I meant once or twice a year. It works pretty well on ants and grubs and such at the recommend rate. GL!
